Love it. Iv'e recently been getting into ASMR channels on KZbin as it helps with anxiety and to quiet my mind. Sometimes we need to just listen to the world around us instead of being loud ourselves. This is how inner peace can be found. Everyone has their own form of meditative practice and it seems even performing a world-class brake job can be that very practice. Thats weird. I never came across ASMR, but in this video is like I'm right there. The sounds are so real that shakes your brain. How do you record it to be so vivid ? Fantastic Eric. Thank you
@ericthecarguy3 жыл бұрын
I used 2 different mics and mixed the sound in post. The most important thing is there was very little ambient noise outside the shop. A very rare thing. Between the truck repair shop next door, the independent truckers that park in the lot, the traffic, and the road construction out front, there is always a lot of noise. On this particular weekend, Halloween weekend, there was none of that. I took advantage and recorded this video. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the comment.

I'm in Quebec. One of the worst place in the rust belt. It always bewilders me how easy a brake job is out of the rust belt. This brake job would not last 2 years here. The pads would seize in the brackets from rust swelling behind the clips after the first winter. I have use a heavy hammer to remove the pads from the bracket on a regular basis and it often take several hard blows to get them out. Amazing.

Hi! Can you give me some advice about my 97 Civic? I am a Brit living in Thailand for 2 years. The car is made in Thailand. The outer bellow on the right driver side was cracked. The shop didn't have a complete shaft in stock and I opted to replace the outer CV joint. Everything back in place I went for a short drive. Arriving home to park on a slope, the drive shaft came out of the manual gear box! The circlip came out with the shaft. The short teeth inside of the circlip (about 2 mm in length) are badly damaged and I picked out what must have been the broken teeth inside the gearbox spline. I heard somewhere to check that the length after assembly should be the same as before. But I must admit my measurements show that it is shorter. How did this happen? The new outer CV joint is exactly the same length as the old one. The shaft and inner joint are unchanged. I am at a bit of a loss what to do now. I pulled back the bellow on the inner joint. Without removing any grease, it would appear to be ok.
