Fun fact I learned watching Qing Royalty drama. The nail guards worn on Tingtings hand were worn in real life by nobility to protect the ring and pinky fingernails that were extra long to show they did no hard labor and were used to punish maids and eunuchs subtly as to leave no marks behind. The more complex the design, the higher the rank of the person wearing them.
