5:45 I think... That phrase is never used in Spanish: "Tengo cero dinero", the correct is: "No tengo dinero". Quantities are not used with "dinero" (money). At least you use "pesos" (like dollars). "Tengo cero pesos". Definitely, the person behind the Spanish in duolingo is not a Spanish native.

I'm brazilian too. To me English just kinda came naturally, watching subtitled shows and games and all of that. Of course learning at school and maybe having suplementary english classes is also great. But if you want to get your hearing of english better, I'd just recommend watching any show in english dub and with english subtitles. At first you won't get anything that they're saying, but with some time and the basics (like stuff that they teach at school) you'll start getting the meaning of words and expressions very easily.

I think the whole thing about being embarrassed about speaking a new language out loud is a lot like people who are too embarrassed to sing or dance in front of people, it can be a tough mental barrier to get over but once u do it gets a lot easier.

I speak English, French, Spanish and Chinese all of which I learned the traditional way and living in the various countries. I’m rather skeptical of language apps and am not convinced they teach people to speak the language. I don’t think they’d work for me, but to all of you who have found them helpful, that’s amazing and hopefully yall get to use the language- nothing feels more rewarding than that!

I dont think anything compares to being fully immersed in a language that way you were, however, one of my friends has had a HUGE amount of success using Duolingo. He's developed enough understanding of Spanish to carry a general conversation and to give input!

Although it’s my native language, I understand Spanish can be quite difficult to non-romance language speakers. Especially if you consider dialect groups. Of which there are actually about 7 groups of Spanish, mine is Caribbean Spanish for example, but the general one used for learning I guess is European Spanish

Si,sirve para todos,pero en español hay limitados,por ejemplo,yo quería aprender coreano y para el español no hay,si hay para inglés,entonces me toca todo el proceso en inglés,espero se entienda lo que estoy diciendo.

@@streambrawler También te aviso, Duolingo normalmente no te ayudará a pasar de un nivel de principiante. Lo más probable es que acabes pasándote a otras plataformas o métodos de aprendizaje si buscas alcanzar un nivel mayor.

My dad is from Mexico so when he came here he was only trying to speak English, but he spoke more Spanish when my sisters were born but when I was born it was full on English, so I can understand Spanish I just can’t speak it well, so when I go visit family in Mexico, just imagine

My family only spoke Spanish when they came to the us so my first language was Spanish but ever since I attended a english speaking school then my Spanish has been horrible and now I can only understand it but I can’t speak it 😃

I took Spanish for 6 years, but it's been 6 years since I last touched anything regarding learning it... surprised at what I remembered! Gibi is much more calming than the pre-recoded Duolingo audio :D

La originalidad y la calidad de tus vídeos hacen de ti alguien única e irrepetible en el ASMR. Tus casi 3 millones y medio de suscriptores a día de hoy te convierte por méritos propios en una de las grandes artistas del género (para mi la más grande de todas). Te llevo siguiendo desde hace casi 4 años y estoy orgulloso de tu enorme evolución y crecimiento. Quién me iba a decir que acabarías superando a muchos grandes artistas y conocidos nombres de este mundillo y de que yo sería testigo de ello.
