A slight off-the-beaten-path trip to buy some eyeliner resulted in a BUNCH of purchases today...Plus an off-topic ramble about a future KZbin endeavor.

Just discovered your channel today. I live in Seattle, but I'm originally from SW Virginia. I've been so homesick lately (hits every now and then), and your voice gives me so much comfort and a tiny slice of home. Thank you so much :-)

Oh dear! I'm sorry you're homesick sometimes. That's no fun at all. I lived in Illinois for about a year, and I missed home SO much. This was before KZbin and ASMR videos. I felt so isolated and out of my element up there. I hope my videos continue to help you! :)

Yes! A haul video! My favorite. Every time you said "and then, we stopped..." I was personally thrilled (because I love a great, long haul video), but at the same time, I had to groan for your son's sake. I remember shopping/errands runs with my mom at that age, and..let's just say they weren't my favorite. He sounds like he's a much better sport than I was. :)
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
He's usually pretty okay with my meandering adventures because there's always a glimmer of hope that he'll get something out of it. He seems to know that I feel guilty, dragging him along, and that I'm more susceptible to polite pleas for toys and candy. He finagled a bag of Twizzlers, some Starburst, and an emoji notebook out of me yesterday. :)

I love love love your haul videos. Really, all your videos. I could listen to you talk all day. Part of my family grew up in the south (and I live there now) and while I never picked up an accent, my grandmother has a very thick accent. But it's not nearly as nice as yours. Sorry Gramma
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
Aw, thank you! It's always fascinated me how some people pick up an accent so fast, and some never do. My aunt lived in Arizona for about 25 years and lost all of her Southern accent during that time. She moved back to my state about 20 years ago, but the Southern accent never came back. It's weird. She still sounds like she's not from these parts.

where do you get all the boxes/packaging in order to ship all of your ebay orders?
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
I obtain most of it from www.usps.com. You can order Priority Mail envelopes and boxes, and they're free. They'll deliver them right to my door, and it doesn't cost me a cent. I buy my tape in bulk from Costco, and I save any boxes or packing materials from stuff I order online and reuse it in the packages that I ship.

If you don't mind me asking, how come you don't have pierced ears? It seems like a lot of effort to convert earrings! But I know that for some people piercings just don't take
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
I had them pierced when I was 12, but I had a LOT of problems. I had allergic reactions to almost every pair I tried (even the hypoallergenic ones), I had constant itching, swelling, etc. The only thing I could wear without complications was 18 kt gold, and that's too expensive, so after about six months of agony, I let them grow up and never got them re-pierced. I'm fine with the clip-ons. Plus, I love dangly earrings, and I have this horrible fear that the earring's going to get yanked out/off. With a clip-on, that's not an issue. It's not going to rip my earlobe apart if the earring gets yanked off for some reason.
@ashleynl67318 жыл бұрын
+SouthernASMR Sounds That isn't very fun:(. My aunt is the same way, they kept getting infected and she just let them close up, because same thing it was agony. I just got another ear piercing done, and although my first two were fine, this one isn't wanting to take. That's so cool though that you can convert them to clip on! I never knew you could:)
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
My left ear handled it better than my right, but I still had problems. I developed a cyst behind my right ear that took about five years to completely go away, even after being lanced and treated by a doctor. Oh yes, and several lovely infections. Ugh!
@ashleynl67318 жыл бұрын
+SouthernASMR Sounds The cysts are the worse! That's what happened to me. Sometimes it truly isn't worth it. I faced that decision with a cartilage piercing (helix). It kept getting infected and hurting, but I tried one more time. They say to never use an alcohol or hydrogen peroxide but I did and it finally healed up :)
@ashleynl67318 жыл бұрын
+SouthernASMR Sounds Since I'm 19, I have quite a few. I have two cartilage piercings, and 3 on each lobe. I just got my lobes pierced last month to correct the botched job that happened to me when I got them first pierced (I was 8 for the first lobe 15 for the 2nd lobe). When I first got them pierced, they used a piercing gun which isn't as accurate and delays healing and causes more pain. So I found a tattoo parlor once I turned 18 and got them professionally done. I got my first cartilage piercing done at Claire's which was awful, so I did my homework and found out it should be done at the tattoo parlor, so that's where I got my second. last month I had the guy redo 3/4 of my lobe piercings and 2 weeks ago, I got my third lobe pierces on both sides:). I'm pretty antsy to wear normal earrings again! Sadly that won't happen until probably the end of this year, since I'm doing swim at my local college and it can exacerbate the holes if nothing is in place

You should do a video about the types of jeans (or any kind of clothing really) that are desirable to sell on Ebay. I have thrift stores near me that have rows and rows of jeans. I've often thought if I knew which ones are valuable I could resell them on Ebay but I know nothing about jeans or fashion.
@SouthernASMRSounds8 жыл бұрын
Jeans are a tough one, because the "in" brands change from time to time. One brand may sell great today but be worth nothing next year. I have good luck with Nautica jeans (for men), Miss Me jeans (for women), and Lucky Brand jeans for men and women. The best way I've found to tell if a brand is a good one is to take my phone with me to the store, pull up my eBay app, and search the brands that I find in the store.
