ASMR - Fifty Shades of Green: History of Absinthe

Hi guys,
sorry if the title made you come here hoping for some sort of erotic content ;). Today I tell you the story of absinthe ("The Green Fairy" as it is sometimes called).
As for any other alcoholic drink, limited and episodic consumption is a pleasure, whereas excessive consumption will only harm you and ruin your life (and others'). Be responsible, that will make you happier!

The "tripping" effect from Absinthe comes from the Wormwood that used to be found in it, not the alcohol.

absinthe doesnt make u trip at all. it gives u a lucid mind while drinking it. this is why it was popular among the poets and artists of the belle opaque

I tried Absinthe once..it was not the nicest experience I've ever had, not the worst. I think it's bark (flavour) is worse than it's bite. And I'm a spirits/liqueurs kind of guy! It's not the worst though. The worst was with grappa(?Not sure of the spelling), arguably the most vile, most disgusting bottle of puss I've ever had the misfortune to come across! Another fabulous video. I would ask though, why would you think it would make people come here for some sort of erotic content?

Absinthe is something I've wanted to try for quite a while, but it's just so expensive! I don't know what it costs elsewhere but where I live in Canada it goes for $60 a bottle at the cheapest.

Roflcopter4b $60 at the cheapest looks very expensive indeed (because of taxes on alcohol maybe?). I am not an expert but I think it would cost you 50-60p100 less in France or Switzerland.

The French Whisperer Yeah, alcohol and tobacco taxes tend to be quite high here in Canada. I don't know the actual numbers for the tax on liquor but the prices I've seen when travelling to the US are significantly lower. I do happen to know that the tax on tobacco is something near 100% of the sale price, meaning we pay literally double for tobacco (not that I ever smoke).

My husband almost died from absinthe. He didn't have much, actually, but it was enough to cause some very strange effects. That's a powerful, crazy drink. I would advise anyone who tries it, a lot of caution when trying this

***** it's possible, I have no idea. My husband is a social drinker and can easily have a couple of beers without feeling sick or even drunk, but on this occasion, he felt overpowered. It has never happened to him like this before or after this incident. He wasn't on medication. He's had stronger drinks before like whiskey or vodka, but never combined them. On this occasion he had wine and a few shots of whiskey prior to the absinthe shot that sealed the deal. Then he started feeling chased, everyone was "against him", etc. It was unusual, to say the least. Anyway, absinthe is banned in our house. Even the name is enough to give him a feeling of sickness LOL

***** totally agree with you. No hard alcohol nowadays. Yeah, he had red wine (3 glasses or so) and whiskey (about 4 shots) throughout the evening. Then he had the absinthe undiluted, only 2 shots and he showed symptoms after the first.
