One of my favourite classes was my last in studio traditional art class in uni. It was... strangely beginner-ee, as in it felt like the first year art half of the course I did, but was a lot more... healing. The guy was very casual and relaxed like this, as long as you were trying you weren't "wrong", and we got to work with a lot more chalks, conte, and similar.. tactile or intimate materials. It was doubly chill because the course structure was very scuffed and often just life drawing, object drawing, or tone studies, in various angles and 3D spaces, and towards the end we could just use whichever medium we wanted rather than being forced to do paints, inks, etc. Definitely a "free" elective but... really relaxing, intimate, and soul soothing.
