You can tell Switzerland hasn't been in any wars for several centuries since their bayonets are so shiny. Not to dig at the Swiss but everyone else who has fought wars abroad has all the equipment has been drabbed or darkened to reduce visibility.

Also you know. Most things actually used shown they are worn, like a gun. These bayonets weren't probably shined every other hour to look as good as possible. Not saying they were never cleaned. Just, its a work horse. Not a fancy car.

Whomever you stick with the damn thing isn't going to say, "man I'd of seen that a mile away!" They're going to say, "shit, how did nobody see this clean shiny knife a mile out and prevent my subsequent brutal death by stabbing?" The only time a shiny knife kills the bearer is if some cosmic entity was like, "fred said all his prayers today, but hanz found a 4 leaf clover taking a piss."

^ this is what happens when people over think things, I'll not argue its foolish to not cover reflective surfaces. Far more frequently this is some mook thinking he is taking care of "grandpas steak knife" and polishing it like a flesh flute. Stupid people win everyday, a rock slipping under someone's boot can just as easily kill everyone in a "stealth mission". 9 times out of 10 you're putting a knife on your GUN,

Russian traditional needle triangular bayonet, which was installed under the barrel of a firearm. Since the needle-type bayonet has an advantage in bayonet combat in a tight formation, and the needle-shaped bayonet reduces the chance of getting stuck in the enemy's body and increases penetration. Also, the needle bayonet had a much less mass than that of a blade bayonet of similar dimensions

I don't think I've ever seen someone able to put the bayonet on the Mosin Nagant and rotate it so it sits correctly. Most of the bayonets I've seen don't fit right, and instead of rotating, it just awkwardly covers the front sight. I honestly thought that was just how they were supposed to fit since none of them ever rotated like they're supposed to.

I was very surprised that they even make bayonets for modern assault rifles, id assume they were mostly obsolete and not included post WWII due to most firefights involving much longer range and/of more volume of fire than before. but I guess it doesn't take too much money or effort just to make a regular knife also have a hole that can attach to a barrel.
