I did EMDR therapy about ten years ago and it worked really well; I still do the tapping and eye movements when I get stressed. This is a very close approximation :-)

Just an update to any who care to hear: STILL use this session about once a week to 10 days apart. STILL derive benefit; sit with my face level w/mid screen, 6-8 inches back. Many times I cannot make it to the flashlight my eyes are so shot, but in a good way. Not all tense and achy, but fatigued like after a workout. And boy howdy do I sleep great on those nights. Thanks again. So much appreciated!

Recently found this. WIsh there were more, I think one other ASMRtist on here. But it sounds like IEMT which is an NLP so maybe psychs got it from hypnotherapists?

I've found that movements produce ASMR responses too. Often I note that motion, even without sound, can trigger the tingles. I think it's the anticipatory aspect of my focus being closely guided, mixed with the intimacy of the action.

Following fingers/objects is probably my biggest trigger, but I find that most people only do it in their videos a minute or so. The fact that you did it multiple times and in different ways was just perfect for me, I haven't had that many tingles in a very long time. Thanks!!!

Many ASMRtists have relaxed me and helped me to sleep, but there's a select few who have really genuinely helped me, and you are very much part of that group now with this video.

Ask me the next day how I feel about the sleep. I could have been just distracted, sidetracked by your finger movements. I also love those smart questions about link in the past (e.g. fire next door). Lots of stuff is in subconscious and, at least for me, it is very hard to find such link, at least cognitively. Having said that, video and approach showing therapy example is great.

I realize that this is just an RP based on the experience and not the real, professional thing but even this "amateur" version brought forth remarkably detailed memories Im wondering if this is placebo effect or my imagination but it did feel like the feelings were a bit more 'faded' at the end - I don't have PTSD or anything but I was thinking of a real unpleasant incident which I felt left a deep rooted impact on me.

The last thing I expected to come across at 2am was a relaxation video asking about the most traumatic thing that ever happened to me. If emdr doesn't require talk therapy, maybe you could leave that part out? Not to be overly dramatic. but there are questionable implications for medical ethics here.

I sense that EMDR may have an additional delayed reaction effect of reprogramming R.E.M. activity during dreaming, in effect neurally programming over the eye movement associated with the trauma memory.
