There is a term used for people that collect matchbook covers; it is “phillumenist”, and Phillumeny is a term attached to those who collect matchbook covers and related items.
I’ve read that Matchbook cover collecting is one of the fastest growing hobbies in America today. This is news to me, and other than my wife and aunt, I don’t know anyone that collects or has collected such a thing. In this video, we will take a look at some of the matchbook covers from my wife’s collection from decades ago. If this video is well received, perhaps over time, I’ll make a series of matchbook cover videos including matchbook covers collected by my late aunt.

A little about what it is I’m doing in my videos:
Why am I whispering or talking in a soft tone? Because this video is a ASMR relaxation video. What is ASMR? You can see for yourself by visiting the link at the very bottom of this page.
The videos on my You Tube channel portray some of the typical day-to-day things that I do for relaxation, and in some cases, the things I do because I have to. This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Stress is harmful to your well-being and in today's fast-passed world, stress relief is more important than ever, and so I hope this video in some way acts as a stress-reliever for those watching, as well as a sleep-aid for anyone having a difficult time going to sleep.

Good video....my favourites...The green snake, Cafe Dallas with the gold matches and the one toward the end, the maroon matches with pretty gold match heads. I was hoping you would pick up the christmas snowmen lol. I will have to tune in to watch no. II of Mrs ASMR's collection. :)

Your pronunciations of places in California make me giggle. La Jolla is pronounced la hoya. Not sure if it's regional, but on the West coast we say cupboard as cubbard. ***** For the most part yes, though many times I'll have peaceful music playing, and other times very lively music playing, or a ball game on the telly. But yes, I take my time with most things and try to appreciate whatever "thing" I'm fiddling with at the time. In general, the world is in a mad rush...to what I ask, an early grave? Whenever possible, we must try to slow down and enjoy and appreciate even the smallest things that our lives are blessed with, and sometimes it is the smallest things that see us through to another day.
