I really enjoyed hearing your story. I only discovered ASMR about 1 month ago. I watched this thing on Netflix and got instant tingles during an interview with Maria. I watched several different people before I found your station. You are the ONLY person that I watch. And I watch/listen nightly! I Love Your Voice! It's very soothing and I love your accent, it's also very soothing! You're so beautiful and humble. I love how you mentioned being able to watch or listen to someone on the other side of the world, because I live in Washington State, USA. Thanks for sharing your story of experiencing ASMR before knowing exactly what it was and thinking it was like some unusual quirk that only you were experiencing. I always felt the same way. The earliest I can remember ASMR was when I was in the first grade. The teacher's aide had one of those voices that triggered the tingles. She only attended the classroom twice a week but it was so relaxing and pleasurable to listen to her talk that I would look forward to the days she would be there. And since her job was to mainly do one on one tutoring and answer questions, I would have to get creative and think up questions to ask her ahead of time because that was the only way to get her to talk so I could hear her voice. Looking back on it now, with the constant questions I had, I'm guessing she either thought I was the dumbest kid in the class or that she was onto my little ruse, I'm not sure which. Anyway, that was long before ASMR ever became a "thing" so like you I thought it made me a bit of an oddball. I never even heard of anyone else ever speaking of it until I also came across the term ASMR from the Wikipedia article.

When you explained the 1st time you hear about ASMR at 15:00 (he said "this is going to be my 1st ASMR video"), I got tingles as never before, like an electric current in my shoulders, arms and back ... Getting chills listening to you whispering in my ears.. very relaxing , thank you. I've watched Maria's videos and Melissa's too and others . Many years ago I would get tingles before I knew it was "A thing" as you put it. I would drift around the North part of my country doing farm work. Staying in abandoned houses , wool/sheds , camped under, trees , under the stars. One abandoned house I stayed at had broken windows and a leaky roof , possums were camped up on the ceiling , come home from a hard day on the farm , I would often fall asleep listening to the possums scratching around up there.

Whispering normally doesn't give me any tingles, but your whispering is perfect! It's so soft and relaxing, and while others often make harsh sounds while whispering you make it so calming. I also love your other videos, and you've got some very good ideas. Thank you so much for getting me thorugh a very tough year, your videos always calm me down

I first experienced the ASMR effect when i was at school. A friend's loud breathing which was caused by his asthma made me tingle. Nearly 60 years later i watched my first official ASMR KZbin video and I had a lightbulb moment. That was nearly two years ago. I suffer with insomnia and ASMR is my go to. Works every time.
