As a Spanish speaker, me llamo is used almost exclusively although mi nombre es will be understood. Similarly when asking someone name you would almost exclusively ask «¿Cómo te llamas?» instead of «¿Cuál es tu nombre?». Also the literal translation of «me llamo» is "I am called" whereas "I am" is translated as «yo soy.»

I love the fact that you're doing Spanish classes, and "Mexican" Spanish in particular. i am fully Mexican, born and raised in mexico, guessing you're still learning-ish (since im stil learning as well, complex language) for the letters the y we do still call it i-griega since ye is most commonly used for math (its still right) and the r in the song or when reciting the alphabet we say ere with a soft r instead of erre (still correct) ere is just more commonly used, and as for the w some tend to say doble vv but its most commonly pronounced doble u, as well as the v is uve (ube). everything you said is still correct i just thought that as a Mexican myself i could help out a bit since most people watch these to learn the basics. loved the video please continue this series love from Mexico! also for those who have trouble with the ñ just try to pronounce it enye it helps!!
