I appreciate the time and effort it took to gather the information for this video. This is a rocky subject with everything going on but the world can't ignore a place that does exist and has millions of people living in. This country has always fascinated me and I had hope to visit there one day. Perhaps still. One of the most beautiful languages in my opinion.

This is wonderful, Russia is one of my fav countries to learn about. The history is turbulent, but the people carry themselves with pride and resilience. Russia also has such an amazing artistic culture - from Pushkin and Tolstoy in literature, to Tchaikovsky in music, Kandinsky paintings, and Tarkovsky films 😊

@@gvantsanadiradze7703 please do not cry ,and be more apolitical. This is not about government or something ,this is about culture and history. If u learn history of the world ,and history of strongest empires and countries ,u will understand that the conflicts used to be ,conflicts are now ,and they will be , while people are managing this world. And the meaning of “truth” is subjective. Each has their own truth ,you just chose the side.

Great video! I helped a friend get an Antonov AN-2 going and in order to try to understand the writing in the cockpit, I discovered GentleWhipering and then got fascinated with the history and culture as well as the engineering; "what kind of people designed this?" Obviously a very practical people who adapt a tool; the airplane, to fit the needs unique to their land. One of the things I found fascinating was that in this brutishly functional and all business cockpit was a shiny diamond of a clock with exquisitely ornate hands and facing. Like it belonged at the Kirov. Even in a sea of drab, the ornate bling of Russian art, music and old architecture cannot be suppressed! I got to fly these in Romania and still want one to this day. As for Russian fuel economy... well we won't go there. Whew! $$$!

Thank you for your video! You know about Russia a lot if interesting facts 💕 Little note about Novgorod: in Russia people called new town "Novgorod" really often. So this is the reason why we have many towns and cities with similar names. Novgorod Veliky is in the river Volhov is one of the ancient Russian cities. And Nizhny Novgorod is known for the fact that during the Smuta (Time of Troubles in 1605-1613) the militia will come out from there, saving Moscow from the intervention of the Poles and Swedes.

Fun Fact: Russia get their first Slavic dynasty with Romanovs, before that they got ruled by Germanic Rurik and Turkic Godunov dynasties :)
@andriyandriychuk Жыл бұрын
This is not true. Rurik was Scandinavian. And there were no Russia when Rurik was around. Also, he ruled over region which didn't include Moscow. There was no Moscow at that time also, by the way. No Moscow. No Russia. Also, no Ukraine. There was Rus'. Rus' ≠ Russia.
@fractalinfinity17505 ай бұрын
@@andriyandriychuk Moscow was founded in the 12th century just like many other cities but there had been Novgorod, Ladoga, Kiev and other cities before Moscow which are straightforwardly connected to the Russian land and Russian history. Rurik didn't rule the whole Rus as he died very early but his descendants were ruling Kiev, Chernigov, Suzdal and other cities. You're right that Rus' isn't modern Russia but Ukraine, Belarus and Russia are the descendants of the Ancient Rus' and Russia itself was formed on the lands of the Eastern Rus principalities!

Thank you for this video. Your words about us, Russians, never having a break from authorities... Well, it hits hard. But we still here with our godforsaken, depressed history trying to live our lives. I love history too, btw. My favourite period in the history of Russia is the Novgorod republic. I think it was the best time: people could read and write, women had some rights (in the Middle Ages!). But then Moscow came and ruined everything, but we got used to it, really.

@@Anonymous-qj3sf USSR was a different country than Russia. Majority of industrialization and general & high tech development happened in the satellite states, and/or by satellite state citizens, for example Ukraine. After USSR broke down, there wasn't anything special left in Russia, just basic primary sector stuff like mining etc.
@Anonymous-qj3sf Жыл бұрын
@@leopoldlodewijkfilipsmaria8064 Firstly, this is a period in the history of Russia..... This is the communist period in the history of Russian civilization. The British Empire in the 20th century and Britain now are also 2 different countries .... Surprising? 😱 Secondly, do not write what you do not know. Everything was just the opposite. The largest part of the industry of the USSR was in the RSFSR (Russia). The RSFSR was the most "hard-working" republic, which produced much more than it consumed. On the 1st place in terms of production from all 15 republics. All the largest major enterprises were located in Russia. And I also want to ask a question. Where are you from? xD Are you jealous that Russia has reached such a level, but your country is not? :)
