Your kids are lucky to have a mom like you

To be a better adult, there's only one way: don't become one. Your body may age, but don't let your mind do the same. You have to be able to be child inside, curious, having fun from any random thing, being amazed at simple things, honest, carefree. Be serious when you have to, no more. Don't listen to people who says you're "too old" to do something, or "that's not how an adult behave" because this is bullshit. You're never too old for anything, to play in the snow or waterballoons, or watch cartoons. Do whatever you want as long as it's not illegal. Don't care about what people says, because they'll always find something to bitch about anyway.

On the changing perspectives thing. When I was a kid, I used to walk around the house keeping my knees slightly bent so I could "remember" what it felt like to be me a year before. Thank you for reminding me of this!! It really brought me back-I will have to try it again.

When I'm in a bad mood, I make a crazy face as I pass people on the road. It always makes me laugh knowing that they caught a glimpse of a passing driver with an insane look on their face, with no context.

This is wise and magnificent! It's easy to lose perspective as you get older. However, I'm in my late '30s, and it's liberating. You stop caring about the opinions of others or the flow of society. You should be a life coach, you know...

this video made me laugh so much!! thank you for making me smile;) also, you're so right about the "laughing-until-you-can't-breathe moments"---that is definitely the best feeling in the world!

Had to tell you, after you talking about the Barney, I thought that sounded fun, but the only stuffed animal I have is this little Simba toy. So I started putting it on my love when he's sleeping, and we've given him a voice, and he's now morphed into Shazimba, a lion with attitude haha. Thanks for the inspiration :)

I totally agree with you. We always have that child we were in us so why not embrace it? It doesn't mean we aren't responsible it just means we like to have fun

I loved this video!! I don't have kids but it made me thinking about doing more fun activities! It's funny too because riiiiight before you started talking about funny faces, I was making faces! I like to make faces that feel weird or funny to make. I thought the part about making funny noises was good too, my husband and I do that 😊

We make up the silliest songs at our house and sing them ALL the time! We give funny nicknames, say made up words, and of course make funny noises. It is so much fun and if you're having a down moment or a bad day it makes it so much better. 😀

It's funny you mentioned that there's a train track that runs nearby because in one of your videos I can hear a train in the background lol! Love this vid btw, your personality is refreshing. Didn't know u like Bob Ross, crazy to think he was in the military. That Barney doll cracked me up lol!!!

Mary, you will never be an old lady with your fun outlook to life. Should be a legal obligation for adults to take time out for fun ( in my opinion ). Is kickball anything like football ( soccer to you guys the other side of the pond ) ?.Great vid, Mary.

NOT saying this is a bad thing but its just kind of funny how you keep saying this isnt about your kids its about you but most of the things you listed that you are enjoy are things you do with your kids that is awesome though it sounds like yall have alot of fun!

Kaylin Taylor They definitely benefit from the stuff that I do for fun, but that's secondary. I'd still do it even if they didn't care about it one way or the other.

Your children go on 10-15 minute monologues? Amateurs! lol Why in MY day I would go on for an hour straight and I wasn't even done. My family would pay me actual money to get me to shut up.
