Hey Dimitri, I've moved from Canada to Brisbane, Australia with my girlfriend almost 2 years ago. My friends and I have been watching your vids for so long and they've always knocked us out cold lol. If you're ever at an upcoming event in Brisbane or Gold Coast I'd love to just stop by and say hi. Anyways, keep up the amazing work man! You're reason why I can manage a solid 8 hours of sleep LOL. Cheers, Nate

There is a famous quote we use everytime about ANZAC (Australian and New Zeland Army Corps) "Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives, you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours. You, the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears, your sons are now lying in our bosoms and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they become our sons as well." Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK (Founder of Republic of Turkey)

In the UK we celebrate Remembrance Day on the 11th of November and have a Remembrance Sunday following. I think it’s massively important that our children not only understand the incredible sacrifice our men and women made and continue to make during War time and conflict but also allow us to learn moving forward in order to help stop history from repeating itself.
@Fezezen4 жыл бұрын
We celebrate Remembrance Day in Canada as well, which is probably unsurprising because Canada was still very connected to the English in WWI

Hate to be that guy, but the ANZACs werent reclaiming the headland in Gallipoli, they were invading land of the Ottoman Empire, and were repulsed with heavy casulties on both sides. The plan being to gain control of the Dardenelles, allowing Allied shipping through, knock the Ottoman Empire out the war and open a supply line to assist the Russians on the Eastern Front. This doesnt dimish the bravery and sacrifice of those involved of course.

Hey Dmitri! Great video, as always! I think it's awesome that you're providing people with the histories of these events that some people would rather not think about. We have to learn history or else we are doomed to repeat it. Even though I'm an American, I love to learn about all types of history, and learned about the Gallipoli Campaign some years ago. There's actually a song written by Eric Bogle in 1971 that commemorates the campaign from the point of view of an Australian soldier. I thought you might like to give it a listen. Best Wishes! Here's the song: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaKTl3lspL5pf5Y
@jamesm31426 жыл бұрын
Amos Exom are you sure that’s the same campaign? He said Vietnam era, and was talking about air support, that song is about Gallipoli during WWI
@SirRavenMusic6 жыл бұрын
James McDermott it is the same campaign. Anzac Day was originally created to honor the soldiers that fought at Gallipoli

Sir Raven but the Battle of Long Tan happened in 1966 I’m just saying Dmitri is talking about something different in the video
@noahevans76956 жыл бұрын
James McDermott As Sir Raven pointed out, I was referencing the Gallipoli Campaign for which Anzac Day was created for. But I totally see where the mix-up could happen. I should've been more specific. I hope you're doing well! Best Wishes!
