Boys and girls I present to you the ORIGINAL Immortal Game played in 1851 by Adolf Andersen. Multiple great moves and a brilliancy with multiple big piece sacrifices means this game definitely lives up to its name. 8:26 actually, it’s a thematic position in the king’s gambit. Now, 3. Nf3 is much more popular, because it prevents Qh4, but, if white just plays d4 or Bc4, the queen check forces the queen to move, although it wastes time to develop. On the other hand, white, with Kf1, actually gets a safe king and doesn’t damage his pawn structure: since he is trying to attack the opponent’s king and there’s no time for castling, if the attack slows down and the two players trade pieces, the king is more active for the endgame and a move like Kf2 achieves the same thing as castling normally (also, Kf1 avoids any tactic on the king). You can see sometimes a similar opening at very high levels

OK so that was weird. You called the Bishop "he". For whatever reason, I have always considered the Bishop as female! Knights and castles are definitely male but the bishops are definitely female! I never thought about this and just thought everyone though this!
