I loved the TV guide! I’d circle and highlight my favorite shows. That’s when we would all watch our shows on the same night and talk about it the next day. TV was better then… Thanks for all the hard work you put into your channel ❤

Congrats on 13 years! I started dipping when I joined the Military at 18 and stopped when I got out in 2015. I have to say I still crave it almost every day but have been staying strong lol.

once I gave into the temptation of having one after years of not smoking, one hit and it tasted and smelled so disgusting, I couldn't believe I was smoking that nasty stuff. 😂

i’ve seen a few comments of people sharing their smoking stories and congratulating mary, so i just wanted to congratulate everyone who has since become smoke free !! i can imagine it’s not easy, but you’ve made it this far so you’re all doing a great job 😇

An 80s TV Guide. I couldn’t click and like fast enough. I would definitely be excited for more 80s nostalgia.

The way you added “in the box” to the end of your cigarette order was so nostalgic and comforting 🤣 wild how the brain works

I was talking about TV Guide at work the other day. My Dad who recently passed away would complete the Crossword Puzzle every week. I was a Marlboro Lights smoker too, started with 100's switched to shorts eventually. I quit also btw... I miss the 80's😢

I remember, and don't remember, the same TV programs that you do :) And I looked it up E/R was a comedy with nothing to do with ER (no slash) that came later. Yes! I loved Saturday morning TV. I used to wake up before 7am and sit right in front of the TV with the volume down low because my mother didn't like me getting up early to watch them.

I remember our local tv guide came weekly in the Sunday newspaper. So weird to think back at how things were done compared to now. My kids are 7 and 11 and I tell them you don't realize how good you have it now! 😂

Interesting fact: Jon Erik Hexum died on the set of Cover Up. He was messing around with a gun loaded with blanks, and shot himself in the head. He didn't realize that blanks are actually deadly when you hold the gun against your temple.

I loved my boombox. I took that thing everywhere I went in my house in my bedroom or in the backyard. But I was never allowed to take it anywhere else. Like to a friends house. That boom box that I had was a gift from my grandfather that had moved to Florida, and that was the last time I saw him before he passed away. Now I wish I still had it.

There's a channel called Techmoan. It's a British guy who looks at technology, some new items, some vintage. He's featured boomboxes of various ages. Hint, don't buy a modern cassette-based one.

We’d get the TV Guide and my dad would grab it and say, “Let’s see who is terrorizing Jaclyn Smith this week.” (She was always in some stressful night time special made-for-TV movie.) My mom finally reached her limit and said, “Can you please save the crossword for someone else?!” She’d had enough of my crap, I guess. Kate & Allie is still one of my fave shows of all-time.

I quit smoking too, 23 years ago and never went back! I smoked 9 years, starting in my adolescence. And yes those Carltons were like air! Awful! But it was a phenomenally stupid thing to smoke and I was just a kid when I started. When my aunt died of metastatic lung cancer at age 44 due to smoking I decided I was done and it was really hard but I did it and now I am repulsed by smoking.

So i knew that you could record on vhs tapes but you could record on cassette tapes as well? Did you record music? Born in '92 so I know about a lot of things but apparently not everything! Lol
@lauren688910 күн бұрын
So you wouldn't have heard of mix tapes ? 🤣
@defaultuser144710 күн бұрын
Sure you could record on cassettes. Back in the 90s, you'd have your stereo system. That would be a turntable, cassette deck, receiver, speakers. Maybe an amp if you were fancy. You would copy songs off the records to tape. They even sold dual cassette decks so you could dub a tape to a blank.
