I love this video and the whole time I thought to myself, “What a blessed beautiful life you have.” I can’t imagine ever being this blessed...but then you mentioned your husband that passed away and I just want to send my heartfelt sincere thoughts to you and I suppose, it made me see, that no one has a perfect life. Your son’s hair is beautiful! I wonder if the position of your son’s arm being closer to the body would help him to focus on dexterity in the wrist in writing, but I’m probably showing my inexperience as a parent but I’m a sports therapist so I often am solution focused with the body! However, like you, I pray over everyone and everything and believe with God, all things are possible. So keep doing you and blessing your son in His work as I know you are 😊 Sending you love from the city that C.S. Lewis is from! Xxxxx

If I do some research I’ll let you know. Maybe some games with dexterity like playing catch, passing a ball between his hands would help with dexterity. I think he’s doing pretty well anyway tbh! I look forward to teaching my kids one day xxxxx

I loved this! Sometimes when I’m trying to sleep watching asmr that has the same visuals throughout I end up thinking instead of spacing out. The constant movement helped me stay focused on relaxing and gave me so many tingles 🥰 thank you! ❣️ Also, I work as a special services Paraeducator with pre-k and kindergarten aged children and many of our kids struggle with their fine motor skills. We use little accessories to help them better hold their writing utensils just like your son was using, but if they are continuing to struggle we guide them using hand over hand! But we do make sure to take turns with help/no help when they’re tracing!

Hi Christi, good video. I enjoyed it. I randomly mentioned to our pediatrician (years ago) that we spend alot of time playing with Play-Doh and he commented that Play-Doh helps children with their motor skills because their using all their fingers so much rolling and forming all the little or big things they want to make with play-doh. It helps develop those handwriting muscles and developes dexterity. I think you might have to do this daily to see if it helps but who doesnt love play-dough??? I ended up just making my own and sometimes adding extracts to scent it. Yellow play-doh became banana, etc. We spent alot of time with play-doh for no other reason than fun but I just thought I'd mention what the pediatrician said to me- Might be something to it.

The way he just kinda scribbled as if he gave up and then you shook ur finger no 😭 I am certain that your son will improve his control in writing and tracing, just might take some more time. I get my oldest 7 to retrace when she traces letters. That might help him later, he may not be ready or understand why to do it. For me personally it gets on my nerves if I don’t show her how to retrace, bc I’m lazy and I’m trying to prepare her for cursive so she doesn’t have to lift her pencil as much bc I feel like it she will be able to write faster😳😆And I had triangle shaped pencils and crayons but they all broke😆 he’s doing so good! It’s normal for them to struggle at his age. My youngest is 4 and I have just started teaching her to write letters. I think you’re doing great and he’s on the right track. My 7yo still struggles with mixing capital and lowercase letters🤷🏻♀️ so I think your son is doing just fine!

Biggest tip on schooling/academics- to keep it simple and low pressure. You'll be amazed how things come along on their own, given time. Our culture says academics is number one, but, developing Godly character should be #1. I'm always having to remind myself of this truth.

The grip is supposed to help him learn how to hold it. Otherwise he just holds it in his fist.

You're such a wonderful person - it's a real shame how things turned out for you 😩Sorry if this comment is a tinzy-winzy bitty personal but I am LoOoOopy and not entirely sober 🤪 - even though I don't drink or do drugs --- except for coffee - I LOVE COFFEE!!! I'd probably go insane and die without it. ANYWAYS!! I am just writing too much because I've been isolated for tooooooooooooooooooooooo long in this apartment before going back to uni after spring break. It's either this or imaginary conversation with myself in a maddening theatre of goofy loopyness.... But am I ok? ------ Yes, no - maybe.... I don't know... What was the question? ...zZz... Also, it might work to improve his tracing if you teach him to put his bottom palm against the book and use his fingers to write out the letters. That's how I normally write - if I were to try and trace the same way he's holing it I'd probably do just as bad.
