Asmr and food prep just seem to pair together so beautifully. Your cooking videos feel so genuine and natural and the asmr facet feels much nicer compared to the roleplay stuff that’s super common.

I don't seen any comments on the knifework with the garlic. Those slices were superb! I worked in a kitchen and I can't even slice it like that. Jeez! Edit: If you're looking for a bourbon to try, look for Bib and Tucker! Caramel and vanilla abound! Edit to an Edit: With your steak, season it heavily with salt about an hour or two before cooking and rest it in the fridge. Take it out and bring it to room temp. Add pepper and you'll have a perfectly salted steak!

Not familiar with that brand, but I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the comment on knifework, that knife is nice and sharp and a decent bit of practice (along with going slow since I'm no pro).

I’ve been excited about this video and it did not disappoint. I appreciate that you made your Manhattan properly with rye (not bourbon). Old Overholt is quite good, even neat.

Thanks! Have to say I lean rye in general. Agree on the Old Overholt.

Awesome! Welcome! I do want to do more like this. Expecting to do something grill-oriented as the weather improves, but open to suggestions for sure!

What kind of pan is the stainless one you browned the garlic in? I see it's an all-clad, but is it vintage? it looks thick and the sides are super high.

I remember an asmr artist called duff the pshyche (i think it was his name)who did a series of mixology vids a few years ago,is it something you could see yourself doing
@MonotonicASMR2 ай бұрын
I feel like I've maybe seen his name around but never saw his vids. I'm likely to do one and some more where it's included as I've been sitting on some ideas there. Have a long to-do list though!

japanese wagyu IS too rich for a lot of people(pun not intended btw, but it is pricey)id honestly call it an acquired taste because its literally almost 60% fat content for the purest selections you see in all those japanese teppanyaki's that pop up everywhere. its why they dont even need to oil the flat top grills, and cant be handled much when its room temperature, the oil in human hands is too warm and itll literally start to melt the steaks. in small doses, its incredible. its liquid gold, and id say if you can splurge, everyone should try it at least once. but for anyone wondering why you see such small portions of wagyu steak, its not just because its price is so exorbitant per kilo/pound, but just the sheer richness and fat content of it would make most people sick to their stomachs after about 6 ounces. american wagyu is cheaper, quite a bit more accessible (altho still not exactly budget friendly so dont go out of your way to break the bank to try it) and while not as rich, is still super tender and flavorful.
