Use a controller. The button mapping is much more user friendly than keyboard

I recommend controller for this game! It's what I do. Although it's often quicker to navigate menus with the mouse. But most of the gameplay is best with a controller, I think.

This and ac odyssey are by far my favorite action rpgs this gen. Odyssey doesnt have the same writing quality, although still good, as the witcher. And the polish isnt as good as the witcher. But the combat and general RPG elements are much better in ac odyssey. Not to mention odyssey is just a bigger game. Which is nuts because of how big the witcher 3 is already. So they have different strengths and weaknesses while being very similar in general design philosophies. Just the quality of both the games quests and immersion in both games is unparalleled in the action rpg market in my opinion. The worlds feel so alive.

I've been going hard on Origins because I really want to finish it and finally move on to Odyssey. Gotta say though, the world in Origins is also super impressive. They brought ancient Egypt to life in such a detailed, authentic, and vibrant way.

@@theASMRnerd it's great. If you liked orgins I think you'll love odyssey. You never feel like you've seen everything. If you take just a slightly different path to you objectives you're always seeing interesting and gorgeously detailed new things. In odyssey exploration is even better because questing is so organic and witcher 3 like. It's like a more realized orgins. Took all the new design ideas from orgins and ran with it. I got sick and tired of the same old ac games and this is such a nice change of pace. Ubisoft has been doing extremely well lately and has become my favourite big 3rd party publisher this gen. Whenever they mess up, they have been committed to supporting and fixing their games. A lot of which have become astounding in size and quality. Combined with a very consumer friendly business model, I have high Hope's for this next gen. Super excited to see where ac goes next.

I agree to you both, AC wise. I loved both Origins and Odyssey, i loved how detailed the worlds are, in every location there is something to do, not only chest to open and to go on. They improved the quest-design, i really liked the combat system that they introduced with Origins. And yes, Odyssey is way more bigger than Origins, i have approx. 250H spend in Greece, because i want every corner not to be discovered. I also can recommend the DLCs in both games, they are worth it. Ubi did great with Origins and Odyssey but they severely failed GR: Breakpoint, imo.

@@Ryyst I've been putting off the dlc as I just really dont want to ever finish odyssey haha. But I'm going to get to it eventually. I am so hyped for what ubisoft has planned next for ac. Really hope they continue this full on RPG trend theyve had with the last two. I'm a bit worried they will go back to the old way with how some people reacted to the change. Ubisoft cant win I guess, people complain the games are all the same and that ac needed a big change. They make that change and then the same people are like "this isnt ac" lol. I think we've had enough of the old style of ac, and I welcome the more open RPG style.

Are 1st person mods available for all the games and are they playable in 1st person? The biggest reason I have never played any of the Witcher games is that they are 3rd person and I am not used to it so if they worked well in 1st person that would be great.

It's just for looking around the environment. It's pretty immersive. But o think 3rd person is essential for the game because of the way combat works and the dialogue mechanics which has cinematic angles and a big focus on geralts acting, facial expressions and body language. You kinda need 3rd person to display geralts character depth properly. And you wouldnt want to do combat in first person because enemies surround you and flank you. They will come at you all st once. And theres a big empahsis on dodging and rolling around which wouldnt be easy in first person.

The first person mod technically supports combat, but it's a bit janky, and the combat is really designed for third-person. Same with the dialogues and cinematics. The mod forces you into their person for those parts, as well as horseback riding. Overall, while the first person mod is cool, I wouldn't recommend it for gameplay.
