So much of your health can be tied to stress not sleeping well. Not eating well. Sore muscles and actually having a treatment like this can put someone's mind at ease and they can start feeling better.

Alot of the "critical" comments seem to forget that it's still an amazing foot massage technique. Even if it's not technically correct, each region needs a name and a reason to be remembered in the first place. Hence why the practice has lasted so long

It's not about if SOMETHING is happening, it's about them trying to convince you that they are doing something clinically significant. If Chiros admitted that their treatments have no significant affect on the body but will give you a therapeutic placebo benefit that would be different, but they don't. They spend hours and hours on courses from bunk universities and lectures trying to convince everyone what they do is legitimate when the only true effect is the same as getting personal attention, ASMR, or a massage. Not to mention you are paying for a placebo which is never worth the money you pay.

UK and US pronunciations for medical terms can vary quite a lot, so her pronunciation may actually be accurate for the area which she’s from! For example, us pronunciation of ‘capillary’ is “cap-ih-larry”, whereas in the UK/Canada (for example) we say “cuh-pill-uh-ree” :)
@Zach-p4e6p8 ай бұрын
UK has decided to pronounce them the complete opposite of the US, even if it sounds absolutely ridiculous
@rachelelizabeth29518 ай бұрын
Ridiculous is subjective - You may pronounce ~pronunciation~ as “pro-NOUN-cee-ayshun”, which is also ridiculous in my eyes, whereas many say “pro-NUN-cee-ayshun” 😅 it’s all in good fun Zach. The majority of countries actually follow “UK” European pronunciation for things, so what’s ridiculous or not to people is often due to the sheer number of people in the US, and the US-centric worldview quite a few Americans grow up having. Pronunciation and regional differences are one of the many things that keep language so interesting, especially with sooo many of us using English to communicate :)

Whenever anyone tries to defend it, I ask why we would have evolved in a way that meant our vital organs could be affected by pressure applied to the only part of our body that is almost constantly in contact with the ground, which can pose risks. Never had a good answer. Either silence or some contrived ad hoc attempt to dismiss the question.
