Tonight we take a look at how Garry Kasparov uses pattern recognition in chess. In 1983 Kasparov was playing a game against Lajos Portisch, when he noticed that the position had similarities to the famous game between Lasker and Bauer played almost 100 years earlier. Kasparov used his knowledge of this game to win in brilliant style!
I've made an entire video on the Lasker-Bauer game that you can watch here: • What Happens When a Ne...

My guy said “in the year nineteen hundred and eighty three” like it was the medieval times 😂
@libster4577
@libster4577 3 ай бұрын
It may have something to do with Danish actually! I don't speak Danish, but I speak German, and in German you would never say "nineteen eighty three" like we do in English. You would say "nineteen hundred three and eighty" which sort of follows what he said. There's a lot of those moments with English and European languages where the grammatical habits are translated literally, even though they don't exist in the other language. Sorry for this long winded tidbit you didn't ask for, I'm passionate about stuff like this lol

One day I'll Greek gift someone. One day. But the guy I usually play chess with just never castles his king. Dunno why.
@ASMRChess
@ASMRChess 3 ай бұрын
Well it should make the game easier for you so it is not all bad :) Also you can probably have some “Greek gift style” bishop sacrifices on f7. For instance when the d-pawns have gone and your queens can see eachother from their starting squares, your opponents queen will usually only be defended by the king. If you then sacrifice your light-squared bishop on f7 and they capture with their king, you can snack their queen for free.
