ive never untill now been able to understand why some non ASMR videos excell so well as ASMR. and you put it into words perfectly. its a mix of a handful of things but its the pride and interest that someone has in a subject that does the trick for me. theres no purposeful mouth sounds or tapping. just a guy in a shop talking about spoons and its incredible.

I did some digging and from what I can tell this guy is still living a happy and healthy life in Norway. The most recent photo i saw of him was him and some family on a hike. Bit unclear photo but it certainly looks like him, and has the same name

these spoons were over 30 years in the making. They were part meant as a joke (too serious to be taken seriously) and part as a design resource. The sets are of up to 7 items, they tell a story, it may be abstract or it may be a little more serious. Individually they are just craftsworks. Seeing reactions to the spoon sets was strange. Most adults could not understand how the sets hung together. Ok some are reversed or very abstract - but most children could assemble the sets without any problems. Why?? It was explained to me by a friend who does brain research - PATTERNED LEARNING. Life teaches us to put everything into frames so we can quickly assimilate the visual facts and understand what we are presented with. Normally this works fine and helps in our daily lives but it also acts as a barrier. It shuts us in. Many children have not fully learnt that yet and so there is hope. Free the mind, free the spirit, make yourself happy.
