Yeah it is pretty common in a few settings. it’s like the same feeling as “let’s do this” and “thank you” at the same. And I assume from the staff standpoint it’s more kind of like “I’m gonna take care of you now thanks for choosing us” and the customer stand point it’s like “please do this favor for me”. Lot of feeling packed into one phrase isn’t it???? But I doubt native speaker think about all that when they say it because… the meaning is conveyed with the saying already lol But as a non-native speaker it’s interesting to think about the nuances.

Yes, Japanese is a ceremonial language. But I think in our normal European equivalent will be : "Thank you for choosing us" and "I am looking forward to your service"
