I love it, their relationship is amazing both in the books and in the show. Thank you for this brilliant video :)

Silvia Cavanna Thank you so much, I'm so glad you liked it! I think so too, I love both their versions of their relationship, so I thought the book's one deserved some kind of tribute :)

Just out of curiosity, are you Italian? 'Cause in that case, we can talk in our own language 'cause I am too XD

Thank you so much for this video, it's perfect, really like it. It's very useful for people who hasn't read the books to know what they are messing.

Aawww thank you so much! I am very happy you enjoyed it. :) And yes, there are scenes in the books I really like that unfortunately weren't included in the show, and I think they are totally worth reading.

This was definitely something different. Very interesting idea and I like the execution of it very much! As someone who didn't read the book I can greatly appreciate something like that. I've read most of these fragments before, but not all of them (I didn't know that "Kingslayer's whore" was a phrase from the book!). And the second song got me hooked on it immediately, I've already listened to it like million times. Thank you for this vid!

Thank you so much Ana! :D I'm glad that you appreciated this video despite not having read the books, I was actually hoping that show-only people would like it together with the ones who are familiar with asoiaf. :) I thought the show had distanced itself enough from the books that it would be worth making a video about book!JB. And I'm glad the song choice worked this time as well! :D I like both of them though yes, the second one is my favourite; when I listened to them while I was looking for the right song(s) to use, they just spoke to me for some reason, the more I listened to them while I was putting the video together, the more I was like "Yup, they're good JB songs all right." It was a kind of weird feeling since they don't have any lyrics, but they just felt right. :)

That was a very good thinking! When I read some ff that seem to be more book than show-based, I'm getting the impression book!J&B are really different from show!J&B, especially Jaime, am I right? I know what you mean, I have the same about the soundtrack from "King Arthur" (the 2004 version). Since finishing s7, everytime I hear it I see some epic conclusion of the Great War, which already made me crying numerous times.

Yes, they are both pretty different, especially given that their arcs have taken a totally different turn than those of the show. There are some things that I wish were included in the show that are present in the books, but there are also some scenes that were more overtly romantic in the show that are not present in the books that I really like. Book!Jaime keeps being the sarcastic old bear he is at the beginning of their journey, while show!Jaime is generally softer after season 3, especially around Brienne, and I think it's understandable, given that books and show are two different mediums; and in a way I think book!Brienne is more naive and "innocent" than show!Brienne, which I think is due to the age factor, since in the books she's merely 18 when she first appears, while in the show I think she's probably just a few years younger than Gwendoline, which reduces the age difference between show!JB from something like 15 years to I guess the 8-year difference between Nikolaj and Gwen. In the show I wish they had given more to do to Brienne and that they had given Jaime an arc more similar to the one he has in the books with regards to his estrangement from Cersei, because they gave me the impression they wanted to keep going with the abusive relationship angle, but I don't think they did a proper job in exploring it. I, being a Jaime fan, can do the job in my mind and analyse his behaviour and find a reason for his actions and I did and I mostly understood, but many people kept misunderstanding him, which I guess is his destiny, that of people always misunderstanding his actions and his words. And now I should totally stop writing, this reply got excessively long. LOL
@AnaGraves007 жыл бұрын
Oh, you definitely shouldn't stop, your answer is everything I needed! :D Every information from the books is good to know for someone who hadn't read them. I've read some ffs and got just this impression from them, that Jaime is so sarcastic and Brienne is so naive. I just started to think it's a good thing I didn't read the books, you know? (I am reading them, but with such a pace that I guess it will be a miracle if I manage to read at least two parts of it until the next season airs.) I think I'd prefer them from the show, and there are these things from the books I've read about that I really don't like - like Jaime naming Oathkeeper and not Brienne, or, from other topics, the way the relationship between Jaime and Tyrion ended. So in one way I'm glad I didn't read the books, while in some others I sometimes feel like a worse fan. Oh yes, I definitely understand you when it comes to reasoning Jaime's behavior. I guess there is a group of people that is biased from the start and will never understand him or anything he does... (I'm so sorry if my answer doesn't make a lot of sense, I just had a glass of mulled wine and it got into my CNS quite quickly...)

Maybe you could try reading only Jaime and Brienne chapters, just to get a clearer idea of how their journey went in the books and what their personalities are like compared to the show counterparts. The things you mentioned are some of the main things I like more in the show than in the books. The whole Jaime/Tyrion thing seemed to me to be an excuse to get Tyrion on a darker path, which has possibly made his character more interesting than show!Tyrion - since I found he got more "flat" after he left King's Landing - but I also find that storyline difficult to read and kind of disturbing. And it has also given dumb people another excuse to blame Jaime for everything that ever happens to anyone ever. -.- Though I think they will reconcile eventually, 'cause when he thinks about his brother, book!Tyrion has mixed feelings that's true, but the more he goes on, the more he remembers how much his big brother was the only one who loved him and didn't care for his being a dwarf at all. So I guess and hope he will get over it, after all it was all his father's doing, Jaime was basically used without knowing what was really going on, or at least having no idea what was to happen in the end. If the show had handled the JC thing better, I think I would've liked both Jaimes equally, but given how things have gone in the show and how things stand in the books so far, I feel like book!Jaime has a bigger part of my love. Which is a pity, because I think Nikolaj would've been a fantastic book!Jaime if they had given him a similar storyline. Anyway, I am glad to see people like you who have only seen the show and love Jaime anyway, despite some mistakes that have been made by D&D. I have realised some time ago that we people who have read the books and love book!Jaime have become frustrated with show!Jaime's storyline after season 4 and we often couldn't appreciate the character as we could've if we had only watched the show. The same happened with the storyline in season 7: I still think they could and should have handled it all better, but I have also read of show-only people who were actually enjoying the journey he was going through and were able to see that Jaime was trying so hard to hold onto his relationship with C, but he was bound to break sooner or later, 'cause he is actually a decent person. I hope season 8 will do both he and Brienne justice, even though the episodes are fewer in number and they aren't the main characters of the story.

GUHH I love them so much, the video is so perfect, I honestly believe it's one of the best J/B vids, how is it that it's not more popular and can I ask how long did it take you to make it?

Yeah, picking out the quotes was most of the work. At the beginning I took it very slowly, then I sped things up because I wanted to post it for the last day of the JB week, and I think in about a week I was done. :)

I appreciate these kind of videos the most, I can really tell you get their relationship :D. How long are you in the fandom anyway?
@Chiaramoodreads7 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you, I'm happy you think so! I have been shipping JB for about 3 years and a half, but I've started to be an active part of the fandom only last December. At first I would just reblog stuff on Tumblr and contribute by making wallpapers and other graphics, but I didn't interact with that many JB shippers, unfortunately. Then after season 6, I couldn't take it anymore, I needed to fangirl with people who understood how I felt, and decided to make some new JB friends. :D My JB videos have helped a lot actually. I've come across a lot of nice people through them.
