It’s funny because I think ASOS is far from basic lol. They barely sell clothes like that here in the US, at least not *anymore* 👀, Asos has really unique stuff and meaningful printed tees for the most part, unique colors and patterns. Seems pretty good quality from what I can see. Not basic. There’s plenty of basic boring clothing stores/sites out there though, and on top of that Asos has PLENTY to choose from. Def not basic.

Totally agree with you, whenever I'm on asos these days I get so exhausted cause there's so much (basic) stuff. I basically only look at a few items I like and then I look at the related items. Too bad cause I feel like there's quite some nice stuff they have but you have to really search for it. They have a lot of wide trousers for men that are really nice though from ASOS design, something that I haven't really found at similar priced retailers.

Hey, I’m a video editor at ASOS and I think you make some good points but I believe ASOS is trying to play all sides of the game now. I think there is more of an element of fast fashion now but there is still the fashion forward pieces. I encourage you use the videos where ever possible to help you make choices. I know I sound biased but I’m from Australia and have only worked at ASOS since February 2020. Also the bags are designed to be easy to tear open to reveal the sticky tab for easy return purposes. Happy shopping 🤙🏻

I've been shopping on asos for a few years now and it fully replaced offline shopping in local stores for me mostly because I'm tall and I can't find anything that would fit me. But yeah I started to notice that they're becoming more basic and it's getting harder to find some nice unique pieces but definitely not impossible...for now :)

I feel the exact same way about ASOS’ decline in authenticity and originality. In 2015 I felt like I’d discovered the coolest online shop that made clothes that were bold and very daring, especially for menswear. They used to have a lot of cropped pieces and as you said, interesting cuts. It definitely has been a bit disappointing to see them lose that, along with the original customers who made them as big as they are today.

I agree. I’m have to shop in the Big and Tall section. And when they first started that section the clothes that were in the regular size section was also the same in Big and Tall. Now they are two completely different types of clothing and the clothes suckkkkk and they’re sizing is reallyyyyyyy off. I recently bought a shirt and it was too small even tho I went up two sizes so I reordered it and when up FOUR SIZES and it was STILL TOO SMALL

Used to shop a lot more at ASOS but rarely pick up items there anymore for a couple reasons... 1. Definitely a lot less fashion forward than they used to me. ASOS used to be ahead of the high street but now a lot of their own brand stuff looks very River Island, Burton, JD etc. Feels a little uncool. 2. My taste has matured. A lot of their stuff is geared towards lads holidays, festivals, parties etc. and I'm not 21 anymore.

I try to stick to their asos white section. They still have some great pieces in nice shapes. You’ll have to dig through some very strange pieces to find nice ones from their design collection. But it’s worth it some times. I love the dominic shorts, to me they’re very comfortable and quick & easy choice for summer. The women‘s pants I tried are still often designed in a way that does not accommodate any space for crotcharea related stuff, even though they’re wide pants. But I might be trying the wrong kind of brands/pants.

Do you think you can use the quarantine season to collab with some youtubers you wouldn't normally collab with because they are overseas? - something along the lines of "buying eachother outfits" and where you try on eachother's outfits in the way they intended to style them together, and then choose your favorite items to style how you would style yourself?

It's been a week since I started mulling over a pair of boots from ASOS, but was not sure because I'm kinda against fast fashion and much more about investing in your favourite pieces with a little exception like Uniqlo (in general) and HM Premium (their t-shirts are so nice). Today I felt like buying it and almost immediately after saw this video haha, now really confused!

He is right + If you are in Canada, don’t fall for this trap. I paid 60+$ fees which were not custom fees. I think they make the buyer assume the shipping Fees. I don’t know but never ever again.
