*PAPERWORK* Jamie touched on one of my pet projects; totally unnecessary and useless paper/pixel work. To start a small business here in Australia takes dozens and dozens, sometimes hundreds of unnecessary and useless documents. There are so many that most (even diligent) businesses, in error, fail to do a few forms. A recent example was an "Environment Impact Statement" to open a suburban bookshop in NSW. The person who sent that to us pointed out the "most impact it had on the environment was paper/pixels wasted on useless forms". Another rather complex example was a form confirming that a form certifying the lodgement of an application form had been done. Three different forms for one item that were all required to be 'stapled together' ! Another recent addition has been the 'identity' politics of 'equality' requiring statements, policy and certification of those in some cases. This is required even if you are a one-person business. Excessive paperwork has become a very serious economic burden for both business and government. And ! no one is doing anything about it. Someone needs to start now so instead of opening a dept to help people find and fill-out forms, look at getting rid of useless and unnecessary forms.

He also participated in the subprime scandal that caused the 2008 financial crash, but he was smart enough to not ride it all the way. In other words he got out before the shit hit the fan. Since 2010, under the leadership of Jamie Dimon, JP Morgan has been charged with 48 different violations of banking and securities fraud. $28,675,456,874.00 is the total they’ve paid out just in the past 7 years in fines. No prison time for a single banker. NO PRISON TIME. These people are crooks and is now paraded around as decent humans. They belong in jail.

When he talks about the government coming around a couple of years later and punishing JP Morgan for buying Bear Stearns and how it was unfair, what is he talking about?

Rodrigo Palacio Bear was in the business of packaging and reselling subprime mortgage-backed securities which in part led to its demise and that of the US economy and by buying Bear, JPMorgan took on its legal exposures, as well as that of Washington Mutual, so DoJ sued JP for like 13bil settlement

Basically the Federal government asked JP Morgan to buyout Bear Stearns out of bankruptcy. And then the government sued Bear.

He helped the government during the 2008 financial crisis by purchasing failing Bear Stearns, he exposed his company to financial risk and had to lay off employees. Two things he hates doing but did so for the greater good, the economy may have collapsed otherwise. Then the government used his selfless actions as justification to sue him and defame him.

Wow, I must admit the vast majority of comments left regarding this discussion show that their is no a lot of bad feeling between China and the USA now. There are some very bitter and angry remarks being made and accusations of which Country is to blame in the 40 odd comments left here on this discussion. Surely the only reasonable solution to the animosity that exits (and it certainly does exist now) is too just walk away. Both China and the USA should just de-couple and go their seperate ways both economically and politically. Sometimes seperation is better than constant argueing as the USA and China now do all the time. A Divorse is the answer!
