Seeing people in the comments that are unaware it's a Dr Dre cover and think Ben Folds wrote this song, makes it better than it already was.
@superezekill56884 ай бұрын
That's what makes these covers fun. The cover by Dynamite Hack for "Boyz N The Hood" was another one that had people thinking it was an original. The recognition for that song came after the release of the Straight outta Compton movie.

2:08 I have listened to this song countless times, and I just realized today that the entire point about his Ho and his cousin Daz was that: Killing a family member isn’t even an option, no matter whose Ho he screws. I always took it as: “I can’t believe my own cousin betrayed me.” BUT THE REAL POINT IS: FAMILY BEFORE HO’S. In other words: That Ho means nothing to him compared to his family. That said: Daz would be dead if he wasn’t his cousin.

Honestly, I understand that its not exactly apropriate. But here in Europe we often have a different approach. We dont delete history. We put in a disclaimer, that we see this in different way now. This song actually exists. It WAS made but now we feel differently about it. Like, we dont burn Hitler's book Mein Kampf, we teach kids that it exists, and why its content is not good (not comparing ben to hitler here). Thats much more educational learning from past mistakes, than erasing them. Also we have old kids books with caricatures of black people. We dont delete that either. We teach our kids that we dont do it like that anymore, but we used to. We have grown wiser.

Man...all I listen to these days, and for years and years now, has been hip hop. And I don't mean the trash on the radio. Only golden age stuff, and there's still plenty of good modern shit, but nothing that's "popular", that's for sure. My point, however, is that I day Ben Folds at a college like...10 or 12ish years ago. And, let me just say, that it was *_by far_* hands down, no competition, not even close tied for the best concert I've ever been to (tied for first with Weird Al on the Poodle Hat tour). It was, quite literally, a transcendental, religious experience...

Well, I came here from his "Always Someone Cooler Than You" song, which was full of Team Four Star fans. I guess that's the price you pay for writing fairly clever songs soft enough to use as background yet funny enough to add positively to the overall video. People use the songs in videos, which is ultimately a good thing because it directs attention back to Ben Folds, who many people may never have heard of otherwise, at the reasonable cost of ruining the comments section (which isn't often fantastic on KZbin).
