Hey lads sorry its been awhile but great content. I have returned to give my long comments (I will try to keep it rather brief) on first Aspire and why the team signed him, secondly Aspires future and how he fits with Toronto and finally upgraded Toronto could make. Aspire played great especially considering he had 2 days of scrims before game day. However he was signed because both Logix and Heesu (the two hitscan players for Defiant) caught Covid and could not play. The reason he was signed was because American Tornado let him go for free as he was going to sit on the bench for Hydron. The reason this matters is cause most T2 players are either in Trials or scrimming for June contenders. Had we picked up someone else they would have missed the opportunity to play in June and potentially July contenders. As well since he is located in Texas this allowed him to have low ping for the Shock and Houston game plus an automatic visa for Hawaii had we made it. Unfortunately I dont see how Aspire fits into this team. Right now the team speaks entirely Korean which is keep players like Logix and Beast who are the teams best Tracer and Ball player out. As well I feel Aspire's role has already been filled out. Aspire is known for the "Flickscan" role (Widow, Hanzo, Ashe, McCree) which both Logix and Heesu can play to a high level however Logix can play additional heroes like Sym and Tracer while Heesu has a very strong Sombra and Reaper. So while I think Aspire is great I think both hitscans play his role better and have a deeper hero pool. I think a lot of Aspire's succes came from his playstyle and how it meshed with ours. To explain Na1st is almost always pocketed by AnSoonJae and these two are almost always going to be flanking. Heesu as well uses less resources however he almost always flanks as well. The difference between the two is Na1st likes to be the first one in doing a lot of damage while Heesu tends to flank mid fight and won't make his presence known till after one team engages. While both players tend to get picks it also often leaves the team down players in the fight. Often a team will just rush our tanks and since Na1st, AnSoonJae and Heesu have all flanked it leaves the Tanks and Lastro to fight a 3v6. Aspire slightly changed this as he played a more reserved angles. Since no one had vods of Aspire and had no clue of his playstlye this allowed him to a lot of additional time and space to help him pop off. However I feel once teams understand Aspire's integration with the team he might be exploited more. In terms of upgrades in the future I would like to see another Off Tank and Flex DPS. I personally have been very disappointed by Michelle and would like to see a change. I think some great options are False, Icy and Vulcan from NA Contenders. I think all 3 have played with KR teammates as well. Plus False and Icy are Canadian. Another addition to the team I'd like to see would be an additional Flex DPS. Na1st has amazing mechanics especially on heroes like Echo and Doomfist however both his Tracer and Mei looked straight up bad. I think he is similar to Ivy in the sense he is an "all aim no brain" kinda player and KDG will turn him into an Ivy 2.0 with time. However I'd also like to see someone else get a shot from Contenders. While I do think Flex DPS in the weakest role in NA Contenders someone like NOS or Wub may be an option. Since Na1st is almost always pocketed and still manages to feed I think having another option would be great. If you want a real diamond in the rough pick maybe even Soggy out of AU Contenders. While definitely a weaker region Soggy has looked amazing on every hero and under KDGs development plan in Toronto could turn into a real star (this is incredibly unlikely however just wanted to mention it) Again lads great content. Now that we are halfway through the season I'd love to see your thoughts on Defiant's season. Things they have done well, things that could be improved. As well as changes for the 2nd half of the season as well as changes for the off season.

We now know how bad this signing was but not from a poor performance perspective.. :/
