Nice overview! I appreciate something that is seeming so simply, yet it is often overlooked in other reviewers' videos - the M.2 covers removed, which allows us to see if there are thermal pads on the bottom also. Greatly appreciated and well done!

I have been using an X670E Taichi for about 3 months and so far it's been flawless for my use case , a high light that most gloss over is the lightning ports that some say are a gimmick I disagree! The lightning ports use 2 separate usb controllers that use usb to pcie. I use a razor 8000mhz viper mouse and with those hyper polling rate mice I and many others have had problems with them. When I connect my hyper polling rate devices to the lightning ports 95% of those problems vanish and again this is my personal experience. With ram I have been able to run 4 dimms @ 6000 CL30 expo and 2 dimms @ 6400 CL30 expo without any real problems. To me the bios is basic but very easy to use. The rear USB ports are labeled 5 and 10 according to speed ,fyi it's very hard to see, the port with the thicker outline is where the usb drive goes for bios updates.

I am really interested in the ASRock X870E NOVA. It has 1 M.2 Gen 5 x4 to CPU, 1 PCIe 5.0 x16 to CPU no switch, so dedicated lanes. Then it has 3 M.2 Gen 4 x 4. Like you said the price is even cheaper around $350 but out of stock everywhere.

I saw that this MB has temp sensor inputs but what I'm interested in is whether you can control case fans or just monitoring of temps. Would like to be able to control case fans feeding the GPU as the CPU AIO does such a good job temps don't rise so the GPU gets heated. Even in the bios you can only select the PCIE as your fan control but that temp is pretty stable at load so no joy there.
@RKBenchmarkerАй бұрын
Yes, there are various ways to do that with this board and other boards. E.g., you could use the mobo's software... For MSI, MSI Center/Cooling Wizard, etc... Or in the bios, which would allow the fans to be controlled by gpu temp, cpu temp or a temp header, etc.

Wish they would include at least a few black M.2 Screws. Ironic that spending over +2500$ for high end PC parts and a single M.2 screw would screw everything.

I think this is hands down the nicest looking board, FWIW. The Taichi is the one to get if you need to use two 8x Gen 5 slots. Otherwise, the Nova will be hands down better for most people. You trade the 8x slot for a 1x Gen 3 and a 2x Gen 4 (in 1x and 4x sized slots, respectively) and can run ALL the PCI-E slots, plus four of the five M.2 slots all at the same time, with zero lane sharing. Unfortunately, everyone has found out about the Nova by now and they are out of stock everywhere. Hopefully they come back in stock in time for 9800X3D. And also hopefully without a price hike. And hopefully 9800X3D comes soon..
