Great video, many thanks, I see on the Assassin website, there is a "Edition 4" in a 15 foot and then also an "Edition 9" in a 14 foot (XXX Heavy) if I am understanding the site correctly ? I think what is also really great is the protective case these rods come in. I have a Bluefish and Equinox and they come is a thin little bag which doesn't give much protection ! What has happened during transport is the tip ceramic lining has either come out completely on the one or cracked and the sharp edge has ripped my braid to bits on the other ! So if I was going to give Assassin some feed back it would be to incorporate some better protection on their other rods they have and not just the Championship Edition.

Great review, thanks! I switched to the zeros from the berkleys, 3 months ago. MH, H and a HXL. It “feels” like I cast the 14ft better than the 15ft. Is the MH, that is now the 5(?) capable of: Slide a livie? Catching crackers? I would like to move to 1 rod, but it seems you need to have the 5 and 6 I only fish edibles, just size edibles as I am of the opinion, the less the big fish is caught, the better for their survival (just my opinion) The 6 would most probably be an overkill for me However, can the 6 also be used for n gallie? Thanks for your excellent channel and responses

Thanks! If you are looking for one rod to catch it all(edibles) the 5 is the one! From a gallie to a 100lb kob and crackers! It will do the job from casting a 4oz and a gallie bait to a 5 or 6 oz with a big cracker bait or a live mullet! The 5 is my go to edible rod, specially for kob! It throws a live mullet really well👌🏻

They are still great! It is just new technology and we have to move with the times! The new rods are great and I had a lot of questions around them, so this is to inform people about them as well as the difference between the previous models and the new models. It this not mean that the previous model is now not good, they are still great rods!

Sorry, I only saw your comment now. Ideally you would want to put on a 10k or 14k for edible fishing on a #5 the New JDB DNA braid is a great braid! I highly recommend that you try it. Kind regards. Xander.

@@zoolookfishing Thanks Xander really appreciate it. i have bought the Shimano Stella SW 14K XG (2019) to pair with the Assasin #5. will check the braid out. Have been told unless i am targeting 100lb plus fish (which i am not) the 14K XG is fine. and it can double as a popping reel on a smaller rod. Is an expensive set up, but am off an age i will only be buying it once and is a treat to myself ...hopefully i will actually catch some fish :) In all honesty i normally fish offshore and am new to the surf fishing lark, mainly want to just get out on weekends and enjoy a bit of nature and excercise... fish is a bonus! :) Thanks again for all your vids and advice.
