@TheJon4308 жыл бұрын
you're half right. I've played it, but could not finish it. I've had this conversation before, so I'll just copy-paste the things I said to another guy. Me: Found out your channel by TheOnlyDeerAlive's metal remix of Venice Rooftops, so far I love this video! Well edited, you've got a nice voice, and keep me motivated to keep on watching the rest of the video! 1 minute into the video, and just decided to pause it to share my current opinion about Syndicate, as a die-hard oldschool fan, who stopped playing at the era of Assassin's Creed 3, and recently decided to catch up to the series (haven't played Black Flag, Rogue, Freedom Cry, and Unity). So, here I go. I honestly can't enjoy syndicate at all, it has no soul or whatsoever. Yea, London is pretty, but that's it. Everything else sucks, the characters, the story ( "story", hahaha ), the running mechanics, dude, I can't even jump of a building, I have to carefully "free run down" JUST FUCKING LET ME JUMP ALREADY! I'm honestly sad and mad at the same time, seeing how this great franchise went downhill after AC3. I still remember myself playing AC2,ACB and ACR and I get nostalgia attacks, and everytime I try to play this I just don't enjoy myself at all. The Assassins Creed franchise has reached a point where Call of duty has a more intense story. I hope Ubisoft will make up for all of their mistakes, taking a year off seems like a good move, even tho they still disappoint us, with their most recent mistake being The Division. So yeah, that's my current opinion. I just wanted to share it now, as a "storage" of my thoughts, since perhaps my thoughts may change throughout your videos :) Anyway, keep up the good work! 2 minutes into the video, damn, love your sense of humor. You've already sky-rocketed into my top youtubers :D EDIT: After watching the whole video, I kinda see why AC1 isn't as much loved as the Ezio trilogy. The game's a technical mess :3. I started playing the series at 2011, starting with AC2, and didn't play AC1 at all up until I finished Brotherhood, which was one or two months before Revelations got released. I gotta say, AC1 is a mess, but honestly, I'd' rather have a game with bad mechanics, like AC1, rather than an unfinished game full of bugs, like Unity. Surprisingly tho, I'm amazed how a not very good game (at least gameplay-wise) managed to be a solid foundation for one of the most famous gaming franchises to date. I guess that's one of the pros of being a high budget AAA company like Ubisoft, you get extra chances when making mistakes. Sadly tho, I'm afraid they're running out of chances, and if 2017's AC doesn't deliver a good experience, I'm afraid Assassins Creed will either die with it, or become a game with no soul like Call of Duty. (This also comes from a die-hard oldschool CoD fan, with over 2000 hours into MW2 and BO1 :P) Then the guy replied this: +iRevenor Thanks! That really means a lot :) I'm currently working on the script for the video on AC2 and one of my points will be that AC2 may not be a perfect game, but I see it as a perfect SEQUEL. It took the base that was AC1 and improved on every single element to create a much better game, which I think is what makes a great sequel. I'll talk about the other games once I replay them for footage for my videos. But as far as Syndicate goes, I enjoyed it a lot more from a gameplay perspective than you did. Your criticisms are valid but I have a very different problem with Syndicate which I won't get into now since I need to figure out how to best word it. But that won't be for a while. And I'm also gonna try and do videos outside this series, but I'm not sure what that is yet. Something easier to make in between the big videos like this. Me: Good to hear :) As for Syndicate, I blame my view of things due to my absence from the series, I wasn't there on Black Flag, Rogue and Unity, so I didn't experience the gameplay changes slowly via the duration of 3 games, but instantly at Syndicate, a gap of 2 consoles and 3 games (own both a ps3, a ps4 and a 960gtx i54470 pc as well, but prefer to play AC on consoles, lying on the couch :P) As for the story, I really don't know why I don't feel it. I mean, I was younger during the Ezio trilogy, my english wasn't that good, but I still made out the story, and even tho I didn't pay that much attention, I still remember every single detail of the trilogy. But with Syndicate? Played like 5 hours ago, the only thing I remember is installing some stuff on the Big Ben, and killing a guy on a train (whose name I don't even remember). I've kinda concluded to the fact that there's so much detail to everything, to the point where main characters, locations and events, while they should stand out they just blend in with the rest of the game. Also I don't like the fact that there's no sequence of events, I get lost into the map (which by the way, I'm not a big fan of the 3D map. The point of maps is to clear things out, not confuse you more). After completing a mission I don't know what to do next, I spend 5 mins into the map and still don't know where to go next, and the fact that there are two main characters really doesn't help at that, tho I really liked playing both as Desmond and Ezio in Brotherhood and Revelations. I guess it's the fact that Jacob and Evie events occur at the same time, while Desmond and Ezio's over the course of centuries, which I guess makes it easier following each one's sequence, while with Jacob and Evie you kinda have to mix what happens to each other... And his last reply: +iRevenor Fair enough. I think the much bigger problem with Syndicate (and this applies to pretty much all the games after 3) is a severe disconnect in the framework of the storytelling between the games before 3 and the games after 3. It does have to do with the absence of Desmond. But again, i'll get into that in a video once I flesh out my thoughts a bit. This was kinda long, sorry for that :P But at least I hope you can see my point of view, and why I don't like Syndicate, even if I tried to like it :)

@MalpasDan8 жыл бұрын
Bboy Streak yes, the series was dying, although admittedly I was one of the few people who actually really enjoyed Unity (syndicate not so much even though it was based in my home town) but hopefully the little break they are taking from the yearly releases will do some good.
@mughhungus2378 жыл бұрын
MegaDan_RzR Well, I am one of those who fell for the trap and bought Unity on PC. The story wasn't bad, but the technical issues ruined it. I found Syndicate lazy, it got boring quickly, and all the SJW gender nonsense ruined that slight historical feel that I loved in AC games. Let's hope the next one is better.
@MalpasDan8 жыл бұрын
i had it on pc too. luckily I was in the upper echelon of gaming rigs so to speak, so not all of the problems affected me. but some still did, which was annoying after spending huge amounts on a new rig. lets hope whatever the next one is they do as well as the games used to be.

In my opinion, Altair may be the best assassin, but Ezio is the most brutal assassin. This dude makes sure that you feel the excruciating pain while you're in the process of dying. Many of his kills had me almost feeling bad for the Templars that crossed paths with him. Templars all over the world feared this guys reputation for being so deadly.

I agree 99.9%. Ezio takes awhile to mature, as Connor matured in a blink of an eye [at least in the game]. In Ezios last years, you really see him mature and become an amazing character. If you haven't, watch Assassin's Creed: Embers. It's here on youtube. It is a 20 minute short animated film and I bet Ezio will either become your favorite, or at least on par with Connor, as it did with me.
@TimelessWorldOfGaming Жыл бұрын
One thing that always stood out to me was how much respect Ezio had for his assassination targets, but then how little respect he had for every other kill. lmao Ezio will always be my favorite character, he's the only protagonist that we got to see literally from the moment he was born into his mother's arms, to the moment he finally passed away at the age of 64. We got to follow him through his ENTIRE life start to finish. It was something special and I wish Ubisoft could still make games of the this quality.

The ring of the bell is so epic. It was in AC1 when Altiar killed the executioner, and now where Ezio shoots the templar. If the bell appears in AC3, that automatically makes it an awsome game. Plus it should have been in Brotherhood and Revelations.
