** Watch in 1080 and fullscreen to more easily see the texture changes, focus on the NPCs in the background, not the environment or the controlled character **
A short clip showing the texture "pop-in" and the changes to the Level of Detail on character models in regard to their distance from your character.
Most games employ "LOD" to increase performance by lowering the quality of the textures on objects, NPCs, and parts of the environment depending on how far they are. Things farther away have lower quality textures and as you get closer to them the quality increases.
Sometimes this change is extremely abrupt and jarring. It breaks immersion and can be very annoying to the player. This particular "pop-in" in AC3 is actually some of the worst I have ever seen due to the fact that it happens at such close range.
I'm wondering if this is something others have experienced with the PC version? Does it happen later on in the cities with the environment (building walls most notably) as well? I've been looking for some sort of graphical tweak guide (involving nVidia Inspector or some .INI file editing) to fix this but I have not come across anything yet.

Put a 3RD video up where the NPC's ENTIRE ROBE disappears less than 20 feet away...seriously??!
