I thought that they would flesh out another story with the same IP. But nope, they just decided to forget Desmond Miles. And even then, they couldn't even figure out how to make the character out of the simulation loveable. Before, it was okay for us to have to get into the real world because the story in the simulation and in the real world was intertwined. But right now, which started in Black Flags, most couldn't care less about the story outside of the siulationl
@joshuakevinserdan93314 жыл бұрын
@@legaltowter9811 Sorry. I didn't read "gameplay wise". But yeah, I agree with you. I'm going to guess that most who played the first three games actually thought like me, like they thought that the previous story would be continued after Black Flags. WIth what they did, after they released Black Flags, they actually made the story of Kenway deeper. So yeah ,even then, I actually thought that they would continue making two stories in the same IP. But when it dawned on us that it wasn't going to be that, we just trashed the whole game. Even now, I haven't played another AC game after i've played the game after black flags(the game which had a gunboat I think at the start of the game, can't remember what it was called).

Three hundred years later Blackbeard remains possibly the most famous pirate to have ever sailed, whereas Charles Vane has been consigned to, well, obscurity.
@Sevvina7 жыл бұрын
+hatchcrazy Yeah, I thought that was a nice detail as well. During his lifetime, Vane was definitely one of the most famous and feared pirates in the Caribbean. However, he was too vicious to romanticize into an "anti-hero" and so other names gained much more popularity over the years. I feel like the series needed an arc about how low one can truly fall when living the Creed's most obvious misinterpretation to its logical conclusion. Freedom without thought of consequences, losing sight of what you truly wanted in life. All Edward really wanted was to not live the life of poverty with his wife (who could've had better if she hadn't met him, IIRC), but his dreams just got out of control and look where that got him.
@Douio6 ай бұрын
@@natchu96 i think Edward misinterpreted the Creed from the Assassins as was shown when Mary Read tries to explain the order to him. He took it as a form of just doing what he pleased to get by due to his nature of living as a pirate and not really caring about Assassins or Templars. It was his inadequacy throughout life both before and after he married Caroline that drove him to go insane lengths to achieve something great while simultaneously going mad from his efforts. Though towards the end of the game he grows a lot in wisdom while realizing the true intentions of the Creed and uses it to gain formidable allies while righing his wrongs.

I like the tiny detail when Blackbeard talks about fools and the devil. He looks over at Bonnet, who he essentially sees as said fool, because he's seen how Bonnet captains his ship. As Blackbeard takes charge, Bonnet gradually gets phased out and is disliked by his men because of the choices he makes. Thus his speech about fools and the devil holds up: "If a man plays the fool, it's only fools he'll persuade". Bonnet played a fool when he should've been more commanding, and he lost his crew because of it.

Man. To think there was a time where Ubisoft actually tried and succeeded in making a masterpiece of a game. Well, almost. Scratch the tailing missions and ship stealth and boom, there, masterpiece No but honestly, AC 4 still sticks with me even after all these years, sad to see how things have turned out the way they did. I do have to say tho, check out Blackbeards German voice, ngl, he sounds even more badass in German if you ask me, the voice actors really nailed this one to the teeth

Without a doubt, out of all of them, Blackbeard was probably the most dedicated pirate of the Brethren, rough around the edges and a bit scary at times, he seemed to know what being a true sailor/buccaneer was all about, I really don't think any of the others ever reached his level of seafaring acumen.

Fact: Edward Teach or “Blackbeard” never killed anyone until the very end where he had an incredible showdown with the authorities and took an incredible amount of damage before death. After being beheaded and tossed overboard, his headless body was said to swim-circle the ship a few times before sinking to the depths. The authorities stuck Blackbeard’s head on a skewer at the front of their ship as a message of triumph over piracy. Fact: Sometimes entire towns surrendered their loot to him before he even set foot on the shore. He was arguably the best fear tactic mind-warfare utiliser of his time. Fact: Edward Teach or “Blackbeard” was 6’5”. The average height for contemporary men at this age was around 5’5.

Rogue's story was as strong as Black flag. There are two differences with Rogue. One is that shay was pretty much like Connor: idealistic, determined, courageous, and open-hearted. The second is about shay being turned into a Templar after his conviction in the Assassins is shaken. Connor was shocked by Achilles' constant apathy and Haytham's strong views yet he never strayed off the path-he kept being an Assassin. Shay and Connor are literally two sides of the same coin called conviction. Connor wanted freedom for the colonies and had to settle for security. Shay wanted to save the colonies and had to settle for taking control of ALL of it. Connor's brotherhood is better than Achilles because of what Shay did. Connor is a better man because he understands the world now. Shay is an older man because he accepts that he's just a cog in the machine now.

Blackbeard was a terror of the high seas. More than any pirate he relished the fear and dread from poor souls that set eyes on him. Best not be In his sights depending how you look at him. The fear of what he would do is worse. Even his own crew feared him. Blackbeard once shot a man during a game of chance in the leg. He laced his hat with lit fuses to give him a Smokey appearance. He was said to swore himself to the devil hence his pirate flag. In the end he was shot several times before finally going down with a sword down his neck from one Robert Maynard ending his legacy on the seas. They hung his head from the bow as they sailed into town. Edward Teach ruled the sea with unparalleled fear.
@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent4 жыл бұрын
Except that in real life his crews respected him due to his loyalty to them enough so that he went out of his way to do a ransom of government officials to get medicine for them, Its likely he shot the man for cheating or likely threatening him and shooting in the leg would be a way to make a point and not kill him, The swearing to the Devil was likely just something to show to his hostages or captured crews to spread out and his crew members likely had a laugh, It was true about the lit fuses on the hat. He also likely encouraged the stories of him being a blood thirsty pirate cause a horrified prisoner and crews was easier to negotiate with than those who were willing to fight. It did wonders if a transport saw Blackbeard's ship and automatically surrendered. If he did discipline his crew it would have probably been strict as you didn't want idiots on your crews, you also didn't want to punish too harshly as a terrified crew is not very efficient. If he encountered people who were able to stand up to looking at him directly he likely would have preferred to talk to them as they might make a potentially useful crew member, informant or person to negotiate terms. 1.

Had lot of fun with this game. Ubisoft would be rich if they used the concept of Pirate Sid Meiers with Black Flag mechanics and add more layers of deepth. They wouldn't even need to create much new engine, with what they already have they could make a ton of interesting stuff.

This depiction of him is the best in media imo. Most movies and stuff portray him as a terrifying pirate that took no prisoners. But historians have found he was quite honorable when not pirating. He often played games and got drunk with his shipmates for fun, and was said to have been very vocal and fun to be around. He was terrifying when you were his enemy, but as a friend he'd be the guy you could grab a beer with and get into all sorts of shenanigans
