I won't lie, the concept of a sage being an Isu who reincarnated into the psych of humans never occured to me. Until I played Valhalla, and I finally came to understand how Sages work. Because when I first played AC4, I thought Bart was some looney spouting nonsense, until I heard "Aita" and the similarities of facial features some held when the ISU became such--as humans reborn. It's definitely mind boggling me to this day since I had to learn this AFTER fighting Odin, and Basim.

11:18 if you look closely you can see real John's face.. his face earlier in the same scene was Robert's.. even his voice changes back in his last words. . you can also clearly see his real face in the diaries menu after finishing the game

@@ladadida4502 It’s just a way of Connecting the John we see to being the same-ish person to Roberts. They are two different people though sharing memories of the Sage. John wasn’t Roberts nor was Roberts John, but they both have the memories of the Sage.

how comes, that Melanie does not recognize John Standish as a sage? Laureano Torres recognised Thomas Kavanagh as a sage just by seeing his eyes. I Take that Abstergo must have seen Roberts through the Animus and also the statue on Tulum (they repeatedly say how great our material is). And we can see Melanie talking face to face with Standish on the surveillance camera. She should be able to recognise the beard and the eyes and Standish as a sage.

It's written in Kavanagh's Letters. Quote from letter 12 'The Templar Arrives' : "Torres was two Days with Mister Beckford when another Object took his full Attention;- namely, me. The Syght of my Face stirr'd in him a strange sort of Excitement, which I found altogether untoward at first, until he ply'd me with Questions that shock'd me to the Core of my Being. Said he to me, one evening after Supper- “Hear you voices, Mister Kavanagh?” - Torres saw Kavanagh and was excited seeing his face. Since Kavanagh came to Beckford around 1670 and Torres mentioned, that the last Sage was seen about 45 years ago, Kavanagh must be the Sage Torres talked about.

I'm playing AC Odyssey rn, just finished the "Fate of Atlantis" DLC, and maybe I'm the only one, but I had the biggest eureka moment when the close-up shots of Aita showed his heterochromia, because I remembered the importance of the Sage from this game. It's probably my fault for either paying too little attention or being too confused, but I often found myself lost during the Modern Day explanations of the First Civ/Isu. I remember Juno kind of coaching Desmond through it in AC3, but for me it was difficult to follow. All I could understand the basis of were strained relations between the Isu and the humans, and to see that play out in the Odyssey DLC was fascinating to me. Meeting Aita, reading the Isu codex files, seeing his experiments, and then the heterochromia, I remembered some of what Juno had told Desmond, and then the obsession the Sage had with fulfilling Juno's will and seeing her again was made clearer. People hate on Odyssey and the DLC for whatever reasons they have, but I found ties like these to be fascinating.

@@ramennoodles4132 that’s because Aita has different coloured eyes so his sages do too. Odin, Tyr, Loki, Freyja, Thor all had eyes the same colour hence why Eivor and the others didn’t have hetrochromia, a sage is an isu reincarnated into a human not just the ones Aita gets re-born as.

Even without choices, Origin took me 4 months to video capture and edit. It does seem that I've inspired several other KZbinrs, though. Before I started this, there were just walkthroughs and Andy Gilleand's full-length movies. Now, there are character-specific and story-driven videos all over the place!
