stede bonnet was not like portrayed at all, he was a noble, he started out as a novice, he had to little experience, but blackbeard didn't take him under his wing, he essentially took his ship from under him as he kept bonnet on his ship whilst putting a lieutenant in charge of the revenge, and bonnet took plenty prizes on his own but was simply not very skilled as a captain and his crew probably was the key to his success hence he paid them a sallary, not just loot, in the end he was not the same man as he was at the start, he ended up hunting blackbeard after his final betrayal was stranding him with the queen anne's revenge which was stripped off every provision and supply, he eventually picked up part of blackbeard's crew on an island after he abandoned them, at that point he was no longer a pirate to begin with, he was a pirate hunter but without his treasure or any supplies they were forced to do forced trades and eventually just fully resigned to being pirates again and eventually as he was hunting blackbeard he encountered pirate hunters hunting blackbeard as well but it ended in a long fight in which bonnet ended up being captured alongside much of his crew, he was actually pretty popular when in jail and many powerfull people supported him in trying to get amnesty but the one man that mattered didn't, the governor, and he was (if i remember correctly) beheaded (as fitted a nobleman)
