There is no way it’s that big,i sank 60 hours into the game and i feel like it’s about half as big as what you claimed in that video.And that includes out of boundaries and huge bay,whole full map is something like 10x10km across but playable boundaries are two third of that.From the entrance we drove through to the city with Jackie to northernmost entrance of the city near oil fields it’s more than 9km long and from westernmost part of the city to easternmost part of the main highway it’s more than 7km across. Well it’s pretty much comparable in size with games like GTA,RDR and AC(Origins-Valhalla). And i think it’s bigger than all main maps in Witcher 3 put together.

The city maps in origins and odyssey don’t feel big because they have a always running motion when you are moving around. The older games felt bigger because it had a default walk motion until you pressed the right trigger to run. Plus the horses feel a lot more lighter in the newer games. If the AC3 frontier had the origins/odyssey default running it would feel small. It felt big because the motion animation was heavier.

True and don't forget about draw distance,you can see whole map of Origins from top of the hills of Black Desert and same for Odyssey.In older games far objects look blurry and you can't see that far away. Also ı just noticed that there are way too much fog in cities of Unity and Syndicate,you can remove them with making some modifications in game files and then they look so small after removing fog,just destroying the illusion. That's obviously not surprising,to scale to real life Central Park in NYC(3.4km²) is considerably bigger than map of Unity and almost big as map of Syndicate.

@nickmoore63814 жыл бұрын
iansteelmatheson technically the entire map takes place within the Aurelian walls. If the game was set in the 2nd century then the entire area would’ve been the city. After Rome collapsed, and the population dwindled, only 30,000 people were left and they were living in the corner of the city. The rest of the city fell away and rotted away, and was stripped for parts, and much of it was returned to the dirt just from ignoring it and not up-keeping it. It’s sort of a countryside, and sort of the dilapidated ruins of old Rome. But I get what you’re saying.

Depends on concept of the game,maps of last 3 AC games are way too big for a franchise like AC but they're actually not really big or even small to be a racing(maybe not for racing tho) or a third person open world sandbox game considering you can travel across these "huge" maps with a fast vehicle in only a few minutes but when you're doomed to use horses they feel big because it takes quite a much time to travel around with slow horses.

Memphis is missing, you have to Know that it was in fact much biggger than Alexandria. Alexandria was the capital city for the ptolemaic kings and was around 200 years old at the time of cleopatra. Memphis was 3000 years old at this time, was a big and cosmopolitain city with a huge temple of Ptah and a very big and crowded port. Today is nothing left, because Memphis’monuments and the pyramids cover white stones were used to build monuments, palaces etc. in Cairo 7th century and after. Necropolis of Memphis today is about 30 km long from the north to the south and gives a good idea of the real size this city may have had. I think it was more a large urban area as a concentrated city. All true pharaohs have been crowned in Memphis in the temple of Ptah ( Houtka Ptah ----> Aiegy ptos -----> aegy pth ----> egypt), even Alexander the great...

It is said all of England will be included, londinium too. Also it's confirmed we ll see Stonehenge so it's pretty much confirmed. We ll see today at the new gameplay footage.
@abdullahqazi27814 жыл бұрын
The map will consist of wessex, northumbria, east Anglia and mercia. Pretty much the whole of england (plus areas of Norway and a few surprises). The major cities will be london (will probably play a major role in the game. It was occupied by Vikings until king alfred took it back I think, so will probably be pivotal in the plot), Winchester and york (called jorvik in game)

It is the true Size but I get what you taking about, the cities I older games had more verticality and a lot more content that made them feel larger. I still remember how big Rome felt when the game first came out and it's only 1.4 km2

It's funny my hometown district in Istanbul alone would multiple all AC cities put together.And that's just one district,as a whole municipality/metro area it would be over 20 times larger than entire map of AC Odyssey which is 50% sea. Devs should make worlds bigger with the developing technology,they don't feel realistic to me.
