I feel like Lee took a page out of Roger Craig Smiths book when he was voicing Ezio and did a similar thing with making his voice evolve through age and experience. I love how he mentioned he was a fan and played the games from the beginning because that might be what influenced his ideas to add to the character.

I don't know if Shohreh Aghdashloo will ever read this comment, but the fact that she is on board - in this game, playing a main character and guiding us. That's what sold me. I knew her from The Expanse, and I really hope that she enjoyed her role as a politician, as a diplomat, playing that, because I really enjoyed not only hearing - of course - her unique voice, but also seeing her acting and bringing in her emotions, her body language. Facial expressions, gestures - the whole package. In my humble opinion, she really fit those two roles well. I appreciated all the time I got to see or hear her act.

A big part of what invited me in to wanting to play Mirage was hearing Shohreh's amazing voice for the first time, and realising she was the one in command here, esp. given the game's location. I like to see women who lead in stories yet retain their femininity (Captain Janeway is my fav Star Trek captain for example), and this leads on to my next point. Most AC fans are lovers of history. The latest AC games have been used as historical teaching tools in schools. But women are almost invisible compared to men in the historical record. If they are mentioned they are like footnotes to the men they were supposed to serve and bear heirs for. When they had to be written about because they were ruling queens they were masculinised (take Elizabeth I for example) and made into honourary men. After all, it was men who wrote the chronicles, and in Europe these were mostly priest men, men who sidelined women. It is only in the last hundred years that women have been *allowed* to go up to university and study to become historians. Many of these women historians comb through the archives and glean the stories of women in history, and these are the books they write that I like to get out from my library and read. And now we have (and have had) an AC story that has a charismatic female mentor for our Basim. And a Middle Eastern one to boot. Thank you Ubi for making Mirage, and thank you Shohreh for bringing such a part of yourself into our latest AC hi/story. Bless you all🙏🏽
