MSmash Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t this series at it’s peak when they had a trilogy focused on a single main character? I think a sequel to Origins would do well but I understand Ubi wants to focus on different settings and less on characters but a sequel with bayek could be in a different country but it’s most likely never happening, maybe we get a game set in Rome a few years after Origins and we see an older bayek there.

While I think Sarah Schachners soundtrack fit ptolemaic egypt perfectly, Elitsas music for the game feels more like something for the old kingdom. And since Luxor and Thebes probably had less influence from greece and the roman empire than the northern region of the country at that time - it fits perfectly imo. This game has amazing soundtracks.

While I much prefer the main OST that Sarah Schachner created (it just connects to me stronger), I really appreciate the beautiful and different feel that Elitsa created here.

In my opinion this DLC OST has a much more raw and traditional sound than Sarah's main OST. Both are awesome in their own right, but I certainly prefer Sarah's more powerful and dramatic interpretation over this selection.
@z.tanriverdi4 жыл бұрын
Sarah's has the best atmosphere for a visual product set in Ancient Egypt. Sounded more accurate. This one, on the other hand, sounds very oriental, arabesque. Still beautiful but not accurate.
@TaliesinBHeidkamp4 жыл бұрын
Sarah went the typical AC route: lots of synthetic drumloops, very rhythm-based and less focus on melody, with the melodies that are there being rather simplistic. Apart from SYNDICATE and BLACK FLAG the main games always have a simular sound palette which I think gets kinda tiresome because games in general like this kind of sound. I must admit that I am really not a fan of Jesper Kyd and my favourite AC score and game score in general is SYNDICATE because basically writing string quartets for a AAA game was such a risky move. So...considering all that I SHOULD hate Sachner's score for ORIGINS. But I don't. For some reason I love it so much. I think Elitsa's score for the DLC us compositionally much more interesting but Sarah's has such an enchanting vibe. That E-Cello riff (or is it a guitar?) gets me every time
@zeriyx4 жыл бұрын
it's obvious elitsa wasn't given much of a budget compared to sarah, but i do prefer sarah's because it sounds so much less organic. i understand why people complain about it being too "techno" however.

@@z.tanriverdi how can you know ancient Egyptian music? ;)
@z.tanriverdi4 жыл бұрын
@@spiritualantiseptic There are so many studies worldwide and modern musical works of the ancient Egyptian music played with original instruments. Egyptian culture still echoes within the ethnicity of modern Egypt. You can listen to those adaptations and of course the Coptic hymns, you can clearly see they are far more different than that of Alexandrova's soundtrack. Besides we clearly know how Arabic music is today and this soundtrack is majorly Arabic, not Egyptian.
@z.tanriverdi4 жыл бұрын
@@spiritualantiseptic kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGTQc4uAnd2Fpbs have a look at this. Coptic (this word has the same root cpt with Egypt gpt so they are the same words) hymn. Copts are Christian Egyptians and their religious language in this hymn is the final stage of the ancient Egyptian language. For example the word pe+nouti means The God and in ancient Egyptian language the word for God is "netcher". Netcher became nouti in thousands of years. Note that Egyptians practiced their original pagan religion until 4th century AD. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6HVc52nd9OnmqM listen to this also. There are so many studies like this. With the real ancient Egyptian instruments.
