lugh is not overpowered at all. he was only given the choice to choose his specific set of skills and got the same number of skills as a regular person would. his intelligence and knowledge from previous allowed him to become so deadly.

Lugh is not overpowered in the slightest. Think about it. He only has 5 skills. Like every human. Sure, his skills are very good, but they aren't all even S class skills. The hero has like 30 skills. Many are S class. The hero is literally a god. With 30+ skills, the hero is literally a monster, powerful as a god, maybe even more powerful. You look at what Lugh did with only 5 skills. Now imagine what the hero could do with 30+ skills. The hero must be unfathomably powerful. The Hero is overpowered, Lugh is just highly optimized.

I did the math and got some info from the Wiki, it takes about 3 minutes for the spear to reach the upper atmosphere at which point it's 1023.5km above the surface of the planet, when he releases the reverse gravity spell the spear falls at mach 14 or roughly 4480 m/s so it would take about 3.8 minutes to hit its target. So aiming that attack is VERY hard since he needs to basically keep someone as close to stationary as possible for almost 4 minutes to ensure the spear hits when it falls and that's provided he can adjust the fall trajectory after releasing the reverse gravity spell, if he needs to set the target zone before hand as he casts the reverse gravity spell it would be SO much harder to aim that

The spell is based off an idea for a space weapon where there’s basically a satellite crossbow that shoots giant metal rods from orbit at a target and due to the massive acceleration due to gravity plus air friction the rod becomes super heated and impacts with the explosive force of several nuclear bombs but without the radiation

You know, this reminds me of Thane Krios from Mass Effect 2, specifically his Shadow Broker assassination method preferences. When it comes to almost any race, he’ll default to snapping their necks. However, when it comes to krogans, it’s either a very complicated neck snap, or just straight-up subverting stealth altogether and blowing them up. For context, the krogan are a race with double organs, a redundant nervous system, and one of the most broken healing factors of the Mass Effect universe to the point that it’s a good idea to focus entire thermal clips on these guys FIRST if you’re fighting a krogan. I’m just saying, if this dude was anything like a krogan, good call to use the space nuke.

It won't work. In order to get the first strike in he, was focusing on the coin so he could move in as immediately as possible. The coin would likely draw more of his attention the closer it got to the ground. In addition, by the time the rod was reaching the ground it was traveling at a speed of over 3.43 kilometers per second. The the time the rod was even close enough for him to notice, it would already be too late to dodge.

I know some of you think this is comparable to a nuclear blast, but it really isn't. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was 18 to 23 Kilotons of TNT. By comparison even with the magic applied, and wind resistance negated You still are looking at like 8 tons of TNT. Destructive? Yes of course But Nuclear Bomb level? Absolutely not. Modern thermonuclear bombs are around 1 million tons of TNT. If lugh managed to use his crazy spell mastery to replicate a Hydrogen bomb with 5 Megatons idfc what anybody says. The hero is not surviving that too the face.

Lugh wouldn't survive that to the face either, not even with magical shields. So that would kinda defeat the point.

@@Mirality well it's not like he needs to be close when firing it. Plus I don't understand why he didn't use a larger mass of tungsten for more Destructive energy. It seemed at least in the anime to be rather simple to put that rod into orbit. So why not make it twice or 3 times he'll even 100 times as massive? Then we would be dealing with Nuclear bomb level Destructive energy. He is shown to have magic recovery to an absurd level. So it wouldn't be too far fetched to say he could but a 5000 ton object into orbit.

He was standing close, though. And he did need to, in order to provide a sufficient distraction. Presumably without that the target might have sensed the attack and put up an effective defense.

He did make use of most of his resources he planned, at least somewhat, to perform this So the real hero appearing later was pretty well pulled off, as we could believe the show ended right there. But we have the promise of more content now! That's great

Of course dropping a nuke on the guy is an assassination technique. It's how Ghosts in Starcraft do it. That said, Lugh using that kind of weapon in this series' setting, I was impressed and delighted by it.

Osmium would have been more deadly, not that he need it lol. Also the explosion(energy wise) of the tungsten strike is about 6 megatons(assuming the projectile is roughly 3m-2/3m-2/3m) as apposed to 10 megatons for osmium.

Normally no something like this wouldn't cause an explosion. However, he uses Gravity magic to increase the Tungsten Spear's weight and covered it with Wind Magic so it doesn't become effected by Wind Resistance. So this is more akin to striking the Earth with a meteor, which might have enough kinetic energy to rapidly expand gas and cause an explosion. Hell that Wind magic he does that negates Wind Resistance alone probably displaces a lot of air molecules if it just ignores wind resistance, so a giant explosion is likely to happen.

In the book, it was never orbital. Just a suborbital drop from really high, 30000 km I think. Precise targeting during an orbital re-entry is significantly harder.
