Ah! Glad I watched this - I found the printed instructions for attaching the pawls to be a bit confusing, and this video cleared that up nicely. Even though the rest of the written instructions were easier to understand, it was still good to have the video just to confirm/double-check that I was putting it together correctly. Now off to rummage through my yarn stash; Mr. Data, prepare for warp!

THANK YOU! I received my 32" on Monday and I've been waxing it every night. Just followed the video and put it together in less than an hour. Super easy and fast just watching the video and pausing at each step. Now I'm off to create my first warp, and will stick to your instructions for that too. Many thanks for these videos.

I recently purchased a 60cm loom and it was easy to put together, but I have problems with the pawls. When I want to release the tension the pawls all come loose and I then have to unscrew them to get them back into position, then rescrew them back into position. Very frustrating when your warp all goes loose and not easy unscrewing and rescrewing the pawls back into position when you have a warp on. Why is this happening? It's really put me off also purchasing the sampleit loom. Plus I'd like to point out that your loom is designed for right hand users. Have you never thought to make it possible for the pawls and cogs to be fitted either on the left or right so as to accommodate left hand users or users that may only have one arm that they can use??

Can a second pair of heddle blocks be added to the Rigid Heddle Loom? That is, are the side frames long enough that there will there be enough room for a good shed between the nearer second heddle block and the front roller if there is a proper gap between the heddle blocks for efficient movement of the middle heddle? I know the frame would need to be drilled for the mounting screws (I'm not afraid to do that!). I am interested in messing around with the David Xenakis techniques, and possibly double width twill (kilt fabric), this winter. Xanakis requires 3 heddles, according to his book.

@@ashlenc6329 No, I haven't gotten an answer from Ashfords. For use this coming winter (another COVID lockdown project!), I am now working toward making a version of Matteo Salusso's Tubular Rigid Heddle ("Il Pettineliccio Tubolare"). kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipyQaml-Zcmfb9k Very complicated weaving appears possible with minimal equipment. Simple (i.e. plain/tabby) weaving is still pretty quick and efficient. Not only that, but it is much quicker to sley/dress the loom than for even a conventional rigid heddle loom (not to mention a multi-harness loom). kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn23koKki9F4asU Matteo is obviously a very clever fellow. His educational loom ("Il Telaio Didattico") is also worth a look (just check his KZbin channel). Adding his tubular heddle to an Inkle loom makes for a very versatile loom. In my replication efforts, plastic drain pipe has proven difficult to deburr. Or, I may need to use a different saw/blade to cut the slits more smoothly in the first place. Carlon (plastic electrical conduit) may be better than drain pipe - we'll see. The sawn slots in the tube must be smooth to prevent fraying the warp threads when the cloth is beaten. If I understand correctly, Salusso uses some sort of plastic electrical conduit to build his heddles (but my Italian is pretty crummy).

@@Chickmamapalletfarm Well, when I try making one from Carlon, I'll post the update here. If I have to, I'll use a piece of metal tubing and one of the "bottle brush" engine cylinder hones to knock the burrs off the inside, but I'm still on the hunt to make this work. Matteo's heddle is pure genius. I've been sidetracked on other projects of late (stove building, bread making, trying to figure out what was going on with COVID and associated regulations, etc.), but it is still on my list for this current winter.
