@@ObsessedGarage knipex makes probably the best version of a channel lock ever. Plus it has a push button to move the adjustment for the size opening you want. When I used to do plumbing, we put five wraps of Teflon tape and avoided taping the first thread. This is plenty of PTFE tape for most fittings, and it keeps it from cross threading by building up too much tape on the starting thread. Two to three wraps is probably plenty for highly machined fittings. It can take 20 wraps for giant, crappy PVC fittings.

I bought this gun and the 3/8th connector doesn’t go into my ball valve which is connected to my hose for pressure washing. Should I just take the 3/8 off the mtm and replace it with a 1/4? It’s weird my other gun fits my ball valve

Is it true that 7 times is plumbing standard? I've looked around and asked around and it seems 2-3 is standard and have been told putting more creates a higher chance of the tape bunching up and even getting in the way of the stream of water/air if it moved during tightening... Anyone verify this?

Can you attach a swivel to the SG-28 in the same way the SGS-28's swivel is attached (inside the handle)? Or would you have to daisy chain it on the outside? Thanks
@ObsessedGarage4 жыл бұрын
You can't.
@casstransportllc81834 жыл бұрын
Obsessed Garage Right on, I attached the Mosmatic live swivel to the end of the SG-28 then the quick disconnect to the end of the swivel, a little bulky (obviously if it could attach on the inside of the handle, it would elevate some of that bulk) I actually attempted to order the SGS-28, but you are out of stock at the moment, so this was the next best set up. Even with the extra bulk, the ability to have a tangle free hose is worth it. Thanks for the reply.

The purpose of teflon tape is to reduce friction so more threads will engage, creating a better seal. It was not meant to be a gap filler.

I have a Ryobi pressure washer. I would like to get this spray gun, but I don't know which adapters I need. I don't use Quick Connects. What I use is the system that the pressure washer came with, which I don't know the specifications. The MTM Hydro webpage doesn't help very much, and I'm really interested in this spray gun.
Will adding an angled nozzle to the spray nozzle effect the psi?

Hello, So I talked with another Auto detailer and they told me not to put a MTM 3/8in plug on the inlet portion of the MTM SG28 Spray Gun. I should only every have a QC on the 1/4 outlet side of the gun. His reasoning was if the QC became disengaged from the gun you would have a high pressure hose whipping around? I thought this odd as I have watched your awesome videos and was going to complete the same type of setup you have except I am going to a 14mm M22 hose connection which would have the QC portion. Let me know your thoughts. Again great informative videos. Thanks

So maybe some of you can help with these quick disconnects. When I go to disconnect between rinse wand and cannon it is nearly impossible to do so. What am I doing wrong? Even disconnecting the hose from the pressure washer is very difficult. Pressure thing? I just received this great advanced kit with the pressure washer so new to this.
@ObsessedGarage5 жыл бұрын
The QDs tend to break in over time, but they aren't super precise. These are Chinese made fittings that require a little effort to connect and reconnect. I will be having a complete line of Swiss made that are more pliable, but they will be 5 times the cost.

instead of using a screwdriver to slide the nozzle protector down the wand (and risk tearing it), try heating it with a heat gun and fold it over on itself. I ordered the wand from you but forgot to order it with the quick disconnects. Auto Fanatic passed on the heat gun trick when I asked him how he installed the quick disconnects.

@ObsessedGarage7 жыл бұрын
The inlet to the SG28 is 3/8" NPTF, so the 1/2" won't work. You'd first need to convert 3/8" to 1/2".

Just found your channel. Subscribed. Enjoying it a lot. Quick question. I saw how you installed a male QD plug in the inlet of the gun. Any reason you prefer it this way and not the other way around (that is, installing a FEMALE QD in the gun inlet and then a male QD plug in the hose)? My PW would be an AR which has a female 1/4 hose connector. Thanks in advance

Im kind of consfused. You love the German engineering of the Porsche and Kranzle. Why have you lowered your standards to Italian engineered Mosmatic and MTM? Why not have gone with Suttner German engineered. They have been around longer than Mosmatic and MTM and offer superior constructed guns. For instance the ST2605 has the same brass housing internals as the Mosmatic and easy trigger. You can take things further with them by getting the ST2700 which is all SS housing. Best part is that both guns are cheaper than the Mosmatic. There are some items mtm and mosmatic offer that are better but, their guns are inferior to Suttner.
@ObsessedGarage6 жыл бұрын
The Mosmatic is a Suttner gun with a Mosmatic integrated swivel.
@obliviondio6 жыл бұрын
I really think you would make a killing with the Suttner models instead if you offered them. Considering I can buy the better model being all SS with a Mosmatic internal 3/8" FxF live swivel and still come out slightly cheaper while still paying retail pricing online. Have you reached out to Suttner America Co. to see what they could offer you seeing that you have a huge following?
