Me too! Just purchased three 42 inch rounds and two 6x9. All 32 inches tall! The tedious part was taking off the interior and exterior plastic. I did use a hairdryer on low. That helped! These containers are the epitome of raised beds! I’m so happy that I invested in this! Great video!

I bought 6 different size Vego Garden metal raised beds. I am currently preparing my beds for the Spring. Glad to see other locals are doing the same. 😉👍🏼

Very informative and enjoyable. Thank you. Feline cast members seemed uninterested in the product, though. 🙂

We bought a home with plots set out but the wood has degraded so much that they are essentially unusable so I bought two 9-1 kit to replace two of the 12 plots. Will definitely be replacing them all eventually. Quality, super easy and sturdy.

I’m setting up mine now. All that remains to be done is tightening the screws, add trim and remove plastic. It will be for flowers and plants. 17”…9 in one kit. The configuration I chose is 8’ x 2’ x 17” in olive green.

New subbie.. looking to get a few for our West Central Florida coast garden 😁 great info... surprised at only a few subbies... I know how difficult it can be sometimes...I'll be passing your channel along

Good information on hügelkultur. One more thing you might want to consider, add some composting red wiggler worms to help feed your plants.
@ShadesofGreenTX2 жыл бұрын
I take your point, but it isn't really applicable in North Texas where summer temperatures often exceed 100° for weeks at a time. Red wiggler composting worms prefer temperatures between 55° and 75° and will die in extreme heat. I know, because I killed 4 pounds of them before realizing they just can't take the heat of a Texas summer.

@@chrismorgan6898 Well, I guess that proves that Vego Garden's brand of zinc, magnesium, and aluminum coated steel (that they call VZ 2.0) makes for a cooler soil compared to lumber. ;) Still, since my red wiggler death toll is so high, I just stick with earthworms. They burrow deeper compared to composting worms and I still the aeration and beneficial worm castings.

You might explain that the thin plastic film is on both inside and outside which will need to be removed.

Thanks. I'll be making another, shorter version of this soon and will point that out.

No. It doesn't.
@Petlover100002 жыл бұрын
Don't you need couple Enforcing Rods to support on each side, I ordered two beds, one is 17" ( H ) X 6' X 6" comes with four Rods, but the other 17" (H ) X 6.5' X 4' doesn't come with any rods, we have to order separately.
@ShadesofGreenTX2 жыл бұрын
The bed in the video has been up for over 8 months now as has not bowed at all. The corrugated metal makes the sides less prone to that. The 6-way kits don't come with rods, but the 9-way & 10-way kits do.
@Petlover100002 жыл бұрын
@@ShadesofGreenTX I got the 9 way kit and the rods, it is only for certain configurations but not for the one that I set up.

Why is no one doing the 32 inch high ones...
@ShadesofGreenTX3 жыл бұрын
It's only speculation, but if I had to guess, it may be the cost of filling it with soil. Even with placing logs in the bottom (which some may not have access to), it still requires more cubic feet than the shorter version.
@MrBuzyb773 жыл бұрын
@@ShadesofGreenTX yeah I understand that but they have new ones that are split and higher ups are great for the mobile challenged

It's just a shame they're so ridiculously expensive.
@ShadesofGreenTX Жыл бұрын
True, but when lumber prices shot up a year ago they were the cheaper option for a moment. They also run sales on their website several times a year, AND Lowe's is now a distributor so you may be able to find them locally and not pay shipping.
