@@alfaromeonoproblem it would be so nice if you could make a video on side light and low/high beam wiring and plugs locations 🤞

Brother, Happened to see mention of the piston going in at a 20 degree angle to direction of travel (with reference to the degree of uncertainty you expressed at 3:40), when I was randomly searching for something else. I will dig up the link and post it here. I put mine in straight, but am now going to redo them. Update: here's the link www.autocomponenti.com/tools/caliper_piston_alignment.htm

Thank you very much! Turns out i did rotate them a few days later also search for info on the multi piston calipers the smallers are always after the bigger ones. That give me the idea to put more print on the top side. They do this to the pads no to jam so much. I'm really glad you took the time to search and post it here! Thank you so very much!

Video is dated as two years ago, but For what it is worth?...and I know nothing...My understanding was that you should not use/mix WD40 with brake fluid, but, as I say, what do I know? I do know that my repair kit came with assembly grease for both rubber and pistons. I also did the overhaul without splitting the caliper, but it is a bit of a knuckle biting job that way, but possible. My manual says what angle and position the piston "cut outs" should be replaced in, off the top of my head I think it was at 45 degrees, but without checking I can not remember what direction they should be facing...its in the Haynes manual.

Thank you very much. It is actually a bit older that that, it was reuploaded two years ago, the video has now more than tree. The car made about 10.000 Kms, now it's time to do a full engine repair.

Oh I forgot...remember to loosen up the bleed nipple before trying to replace the piston, and .....I used an air foot pump/tyre inflator (I don't have a compressor) to blow out the pistons from the caliper at the start, just have to put a block between the pads so that they both push out.

Frozen bleeding nipples are not a problem here in Portugal. At the time I did not consider other countries to advise for it. Now on more recent videos I always try to remember that. On my next video next Sunday I will talk about that a bit. About the compressed air, you can imagine it was at the beginning of the channel, no tools, no nothing.. just trying to make it work. I hope you can understand

Looks like the same caliper as on my VW type 3, except I have a bleeder on the top and bottom of both calipers.

Hello. On the bottom? Normally it would have a tube on the bottom

Hello... I am very late with a comment on this video, but maybe some one else will read this later? The cut out in the piston, is shown in the Haynes manual, and it is set at 45 degrees. Also I would ask, is it ok to mix oil (WD 40) with brake fluid, I thought not?

Hello. A few years past, yes. Since then I saw the correct position of the piston. The bleeding precess took out all of the WD 40 and the brakes were perfect. Now the car is stopped again, engine gone wrong..

WD-40 is actually not very good at lubricating and preventing rust. Sonax SX90 is much better. Auto Build magazine did the test of multi purpose sprays, and found this.

Yes, you are correct. In a pinch is better than nothing.
