Thank you for your explanation. I purchased the book. I think it is one of the most useful texts ever written.

Thanks Frank! How did you make those cloze exercises out of songs (or where did you find them)? Those are excellent!

Thank you for your informative videos. The book's language might be a bit complicated for non native speakers. I checked almost all of your videos but could not find videos on assessing reading and writing based on Brown's book. When are u planning to create videos on reading and writing assessment?

Hello Dr Tuzi, Is it possible to have access to the transcript of your awesome video?

This is an amazing and informative piece of content! I will apply it in my L2 teaching immediately. May I ask what platform you were using the audio cloze activity? It looked a bit like Textivate perhaps it is something different? Thank you!

I actually made a Microsoft Windows macro to take a Word document that included embedded text fields and converted them to HTML along with the audio player in link to the music. I made it years ago and use them in my classes, but honestly I don't remember where the macro is. It probably doesn't work anymore with all of the updates in Microsoft. I do hope to someday return to teaching ESL and we'll use these materials again.

@@TuziTalks Thanks for the info re: the audio cloze. I will check around with different apps to see what might work. I have used Textivate in the past but it costs $80 per year. Also I did the activity you suggested with the inaccurate transcription of a video. I found a video about ancient Egypt (in French, since I'm applying this to French Immersion) and I made little substitutions such as 'animaux sucrés' instead of 'animaux sacrés' (sugary animals instead of sacred animals) and 'paons' (peacocks) for 'pharaons' (pharaohs) and my students found it very engaging. Thanks for expanding my repertoire of activities!

I have a doubt, wouldn't be shadowing a speaking task more than listening? They are related , but as you say they don't need to understand what you're saying, just repeating!
