Maybe it's because I've listened to the pod already or maybe it's because of the visuals, definitely feel like I'm taking in more from this miniseries. Can't wait to see plaid!

@Frank Underbush - The visuals certainly help! The concepts don't translate very well to the podcast ;)

Definitely not the same without a diversion into ETF Mortal Kombat. Am I saying I miss the pod? Yes...yes I am! Amazing info, again, Justin, and keep up the great work!

@@JustinBenderCPM Hi Justin, Wasn’t sure if it’s appropriate to ask. But I hope to hear from you I am transferring my defined benefit pension fund from my previous employer to my TD LIRA account: I have about 8000$. My plan is to put the money in the XGRO etf. Is that intelligent investing. Thank you
@JustinBenderCPM3 жыл бұрын
@@niranmojo - If you are comfortable with XGRO's risk level, it is a low-cost and diversified one-fund solution.

@@JustinBenderCPM Hi Justin I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Your videos and advice like the one you just gave me has taught me to a smart DIY investor. I’m now very passionate about the world of investing- I left my career in nonprofit to work for Sunlife.

Hi Justin, as a retiree who will likely not use up all my retirement savings in my lifetime, to maintain my asset mix, I keep all my bond etf investments in my rrsp/rrif first. Tfsa is 100% equity asset allocation etf. Thinking is that i should decumulate rrsp/rrif first, reducing risk of being fully taxed at death. Tfsa is of course tax free. Watching your video does remind me to think of rrsp is like a tfsa that will take a hair cut, but a haircut of 30% is better than 50%!

Thank you, but I don't understand where there is only consideration for taxes on RRSP account and not on taxable account. In addition should not we also take into account difference on taxation for capital gain and dividends on taxable account.
@Inquisitive9 Жыл бұрын
I have a similar question. These videos are great, but listening to some other retirement planning videos by @parallell wealth, I can't understand/ relate to the 50% tax on RRSP withdrawals. Unless I am withdrawing a ton of money from the RRSP in my retirement and so is my spouse, I can't see ourselves in the 50% tax bracket after income splitting, and that 50% tax seems to be the underlying differentiator. Is this meant for those who are in the top 1% after retirement?

Thanks Justin, I'm assuming you won't be talking about the ridiculous model since it's not really about asset location?
@JustinBenderCPM3 жыл бұрын
@Marcin Pacyna - Correct - the "Ridiculous" asset location strategy is technically just about foreign withholding tax mitigation, but my video on that topic should help investors with the tax concepts: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hITOppVqhNaeq68
