Released in 1959, the 105E was an instant success in rallying, winning the RAC International Rally of Great Britain. Its light weight and short wheelbase made it the dominant car throughout the early sixties, until the front wheel drive Cooper Mini took over. In circuit racing, the Anglia was competitive in saloon car racing, winning the 1966 Class A British Saloon Car Championship with John Fitzpatrick at the wheel.
This car in particular is notable for giving Australian Touring Car legend Jim Richards his start in 1967 and 68.
