Nice sound mod, is there a link? it sounds like the GT40 mk II sounds only without the annoying brakes. Also, I would like to know where you got the sounds for the Mustang GT350R video from the other day.
@Someguy1785Ай бұрын
I don't recall downloading any sound mod for either car, which means I probably swapped them with another car using a Ford 427. There's a simple button you can press in content manager to copy sounds from one car to another. Just pick the gt40 mk 2 and voila. There's also a button somewhere in content manager to disable the brake sound for all cars.
@Alexander_SnowdenАй бұрын
@@Someguy1785 Yeah, I recognise the sound for the fairline as being scibsound's 427 mod, but the GT350R sounds a bit like the 289 mod with a few tweaks to make it sound cleaner. I regularly use the replace sound function on CM but wasn't aware of its ability to remove the brake sound so I will need to have a loot at that, thanks.

Historic Sim Studios have finally created what was long overdue since the advent of racing simulators - the accurate historic layout of Monza. On their channel they have also stated they are working on the Vedano layout, which for some criminal reasons has been overlooked by mod makers. I hope with the release of this version we will stop seeing those stupid videos of the 1966 layout claiming to be driving on the 'original' layout.

I use content managers real mirror app to adjust the angle and zoom of each mirror. I never use virtual mirrors, so if your talking about the magic mirror that appears at the top of the screen, I don't think that can be fixed inside the game.

Hey mate, I've been lurking on this car for a while to compete against the RSS 70s cars. Is it worth it? I was a bit disapointed by some cars i got from historic sim racing a while ago and i'm not a huge fan of their 5€ patreon. Your insight would be valuable, thanks!
@Someguy17853 ай бұрын
It's pretty decent in the state it's in right now, but they still have a ways to go to get near RSS quality. That's sometimes the rub with joining early access. You get samples of something in an alpha state that's nowhere near finished, which can sometimes dull the enthusiasm. Sometimes it takes a year or more to get to a "finished" state.

Sort of a parallel I was reminded of this weekend with GTWC America at Sonoma. Of course, Mosport takes most of the air out of the room these days with regards to Canadian road courses, but I can't say that Mont Tremblant gives up anything to its more famous compatriot in terms of how spectacular and challenging it is. Similarly, Laguna Seca tends to get rather more attention, but especially in its 2.52-mile layout, Sears Point can be a real stunner, especially back before the works in 1998-02.

I've driven a lot of laps of this track with the RSS Formula 1970 with grooved tires and it's always an absolute blast. I can't believe that F1 used to drive here with how dangerous it used to be. I mean, I like my accuracy in general, and am often one of those who gets frustrated with arcade-sim racing games making street circuits substantially wider than they really would be, but there is a practical limit. This almost feels a bit absurd, and I have kind of a hard time imagining a car like the Alfa Romeo 33/TT/12, which won in 1975, going around here. Heck, the Ferrari 330 P4 wasn't exactly a tiny car in 1967 as it was. So it seems like it would make sense to keep a wider road option. I also just have some questions in light of period footage I've seen.
@Someguy17853 ай бұрын
It's modern lidar of the circuit, which definitely creates an issue about historical accuracy. The real life Targa Florio is falling apart and has degraded into the state you see here. Abulzz and Beni acknowledge that the track will have to be smoothed out in many places to emulate it's condition in 1973, especially considering that major sections of the track were freshly paved right before the race. And as far as width goes, Vic Elford said that at one point he got stuck behind a GT 40 for multiple kilometers because there was literally no room to get around it.
@robdv3 ай бұрын
Italian mountain roads mate. Deal with it :)
@Villoresi3 ай бұрын
@@Someguy1785 The Vic Elford bit sounds like something from a clip in the Porsche episode of Victory by Design and/or from "The Speed Merchants". I certainly don't discount it, but that seems like something to do at least as much with just how sinuous the roads are for much of the lap, especially once you get into the switchback sections and things.
@Villoresi3 ай бұрын
@@robdv It's still gotta be reasonably driveable, particularly in cars that actually won the race in real life. And no, I'm not even talking about being able to race other cars on this course like you would on more "normal" circuits.
