Assetto Corsa: 1981 Ferrari 308 GTB Turbo at Silverstone 67

After 1973, Ferrari consolidated all of their racing finances into Formula 1, leaving them remarkably absent from other forms of motorsport for nearly a decade. This left Ferrari's North American Race Team with little to no factory support, while they attempted to turn the 365 GTB into a group 4 competitor in 1975. Extensively modifying the car seemed to make it too fragile for endurance racing, as it DNF'd nearly every WSC race the NART team entered. For 1978 Ferrari supplied a 512 engine and new bodywork for the GTB, creating the 512 BB/LM, which faired better, with a GTX class win at Le Man in 1980 being the highlight.
Inspired by that success, 1979 European Touring Car Champion Martino Finotto joined Carlo Facetti, leader of the Jolly Club team, who ran Lancia Beta Monte Carlos in 1979 and 1980 as an independent. Without any factory support, Finotto purchased a new Ferrari 308 GTB, and the two designed the bodywork for Group 5 racing. A new cylinder head and 2 turbos were added, while engineer Giorgio Stirano rebuilt the cars subframe. At full boost the car produced 840 horsepower.
For it's debut at the 1981 Daytona 24 Hours, the Carma FF (for Carlo and Martino) qualified a respectable 6th, then blew up 4 laps into the race. Luckily the two had also registered to drive the Jolly Club Lancia Monte Carlo, and would end up 5th with Emanuele Pirro.
The Carma fared no better for the rest of the season, suffering mechanical failures in the early laps of every endurance race, with a win at the non championship Vallelunga being the cars only highlight.

Excellent, thanks. What can you tell us about the "tire fix"?

Tires heat up quicker, and stay in the "warm zone" longer, instead of turning back to ice on the straights. It's optional, but I find the grip is much more consistent from corner to corner.

OK, thanks. So I guess the developer continues to supply the car set with their original tire model, but have offered this optional "fix" to those who might prefer it. Is that about right?@@Someguy1785

@@michaellorenson2997 The tire fix is a mod from GT Planet, because the original developers of DRM haven't updated in almost 3 years.
