To hell with people encrypting unfinished mods. So many cars with messed up stuff (like AI parameters) which are otherwise pretty decent mods, that I could fix but cannot because then the car breaks. Oh well.

why would you encrypt stuff, it should all be open tbh, especially when stuff is left unfinished and someone could fix issues with the cars

people dont want others to steal their work, cause some would just take your model (or rip from another game) and use it without crediting and stuff

It would be vey great if you showed how to decrypt cars (I mean how to server unlock them. (Mf devs of these server locked cars have to be burned)) So it's about playing on dedicated server with friends

@@farbor1734 cars that are locked to servers, have to be decrypted by mesh and remade, so it's way too much work. Might take a whole day to get a car meshes renamed correctly. Then u would unpack the data and remove the locking file. It's just a lot alot of work 😢

Skyrim modders encrypt their mods bc of the meshes. GTA V scripts and custom cars(FiveM and RedM even have anti rip security). Minecraft modders obscure their java code. Alot of modding communities do this tbh. But the silver lining is you can play encrypted cars on my server for free, look up bozos r us server 0 ;)

The encryption must be reversible, how else would the game be able to read it?

The encryption is just making the car uneditable. The game reads it like every other car, BUT if there are changes, it will make the model unreadable. There is more to it but, it just adds protection from changes or disables viewing in CMShowrrom. So yeah it can be reversed but it has nothing to do with the game being able to read the model.

@@Mr.Assetto even a checksum has to be implemented into it, I doubt that the base game supports that. So it has to be reversible

The layers are(1.Base game , 2.CSP , 3.PP, load data) Very simplified but csp is the middle man for allowing the game to read the model and if its changed it disallows to read. Since its a system that works with the Game + adds new features, this feature of encryption is rooted in csp. I suppose if you continue down the rabbit whole you could search csp for how it reads and sends data to ac. BUT then you would also need the encryption tool to reconstruct. Then with both codes make one for encryption with the method opposite. Something like that. Personally i don't have any motivation to do something like that. While its annoying, bc my favorite car was encrypted i learned to make cars. There is good in encryption and there is bad.

I have now decrypted my car, but how do I reverse it? Is there a program to undo this process?

when you encrypt your car it leaves the original for you. if you deleted it look in your trash Bin. If you emptied that reexport from blender to ks editor. Other than that, No.

encrypting car model is ok but car data? like wtf man, i don't always like the way you setup the car to drive lol

@@crsking91 that's why I specified, to only use that encryption for paid parts and server locking. But I understand the frustration.
