@@Frost-ux8jx The available content on console is huuugely reduced compared to PC where you have a billion mods to choose from. It is still quite a lot of content however and an amazing selection of cars. Do not expect however to do things on console as in driving with traffic or these large open world areas or those japanese twisty roads to go drifting. That's 100% the modding scene unfortunately. I hope that in the next AC they will put that in the base game

Assetto corsa makes me happy. As someone in a 3rd world country who has a very slim chance to travel or get enough money, i can just boot up assetto corsa and drive around the green hell in a porsche 911 gt3 cup or take a relaxing drive around shutoku in a toyota mr2 after a long day at school. This game is really something, and i dont plan on ever deleting this off my system

I'm in the U.S. and grew up going to Indy races with my father who use to work at Texas Motor Speedway as a cleanup and fire fighting technician. We definitely weren't rolling in money then and I certainly am not now. Due to his affiliation though, he would occasionally get free tickets to a race there and we would go. I always dreamed of getting to drive one of those cars around the track with the other drivers as fast as we possibly can while fighting for first position. While it may only be a virtual experience, I feel that this game has made my dream come true. I'm glad that you have found happiness in racing too and are able to do something you love.

I ran it on a 650 Ti Boost, 120 fps. Played for years on a controller. Even modified the controller to get better. Drove first time with a wheel yesterday and am much slower. If you get the hang of it and dial the settings in just right for you there is lots of fun to be had with a controller.

this sim has single headedly driven my decent in to sim racing.. have built an entire DD VR rig and this is till the sim i main thanks to low fuel motor sports providing me with an addictive ranked online racing system.. its pretty amazing that the FFB is still the best i have felt on technology that wasn't even available when it released

AC is very satisfying game when you actually start driving good. I started playing this game for drifting mechanics, but now i love everything it has to offer. for anyone who has no sim racing or racing experience, it might be very difficult to learn, but i promise after all that struggle you are going to enjoy this game more and more.

I was just looking for a cheap racing game to play on ps4 because my son had taken the xbox that i play F1 on with him to his grandparents house where he is staying at for the summer. I had heard somebody on youtube talking about it being only 10 US dollars and what a great game it is, especially for the price so i decided to buy it and try it out. I had no idea what a crazy good bargain i was making at the time i bought it and what exactly i was truly buying. This sim is absolutely incredible and i quickly fell in love with it. The physics, the amount of really awesome cars (especially the hyper-cars and various F1 models), and the overall structure and interface of the game are an absolute dream. I can definitely see why so many people are still so into it.

@@omardarwish2728 TLDR. FMS does not have freeroam buy Forza Horizon. It has freeroam but the physics and style is game like rather that realistic. Then use Assetto for realistic trac racing if you are on Xbox. Console do not support modding. Sorry for being long. Just wanted to help as best I can for a possible new player. Hey, so what platform are you playing on? PC has it on a steam sale right now for 2 dollars. I'm not so sure for xbox or consoles in general though so I can't help much on that end. However, if it's PC, I reccomend Assetto corsa with mods. It will have realistic enough physics and has decent freeroam map mods you can download with multiplayer but you'll need a moderate computer to play it proper as these mods eat up alot of RAM and CPU resources. Downside is is that you will need a bit of know how to get these mods up and running and since Assetto is a Simulator, you might find playing with a controller a bit weird. There are 2 types of Forza. Motorsport and Horizon/. Horizon is more game like or arcade like in terms of style and physics but has freeroam. Motorsport has realistic based physics and is circuit/track racer with no freeroam. So it depends on what platform you are on and how confident you are in your know how. Have a console? Buy both Forza Motorsport or Assetto and forza Horizon. Playing on a computer and confident you can set it up? Assetto corsa and forza Horizon.

The mods and the physic engine this game has is exemplary and the amount of time I've spent playing it either by myself or with friends is noting but absolute joy and close to a therapy session for me. Heck, one of my favorite pastimes is to drive on the Shouto Expressway in AC on my wheel and pedal whilst operating a Nissan Fairlady Z 2+2 (My affordable dream car that I finally own in NA that's being LS swapped by me and my mentor).

Nothing beats being able to put a car together (other games are way too limited on customization, yes that even goes for nfs and whatever else) and have several projects cars, or cars your just adding parts to or swapping wheels to in Ac; whether their drift cars for touge or drag cars or cruising because you want go ripping down the road. After playing the game for however I have played it for, never has it gotten old; you can practically have a lot of fun whether your putting /customizing a car together in blender or 3dsmax or find the giant amount of cars people make and you can find a download of it.

This is also a great VR racing sim, the base game is well optimized for VR, just have to be careful with some of the modded tracks and cars, so will kill the frame rate but others run really well. I started racing AC in VR on a i7 4790k, 16 gigs of ram, a GTX-980 with a Oculus CV1 HMD, some settings had to be turned down on this system but it was still a LOT of fun, now with my current system using a Reverb G2v2, I have all the eye candy turned on and it looks great and is still a lot of fun! :)

Ah i see you also went with the STRUGGLE, but yeah now on Quest 3 it's really on another level. Most people who play in VR are unaware that some cars and trucks are just high poly garbage, some of them like Fukuoka are fun but really high poly (around 95% cpu usage with 7800x3d, on Nordschleife for instance is 18% ). I personally don't use PP filter, just running Pure and supersampling at 1.3.

I’ve been running the game unmodded with my sim setup for about a year and just finally decided to add mods. Best decision ever. I already loved the vanilla game, so adding new maps, cars, and graphics was mind blowing, genuinely felt like a brand new game. The beauty of AC is it allows real enthusiasts to drive cars we could never afford (or ones that require a super license to drive) in places we could never get to see for real. The amount of time I’ve spent flying through the Shutoko Revival Project in tons of different cars and bikes is absurd. If you can, I HIGHLY recommend AC, as well as mods.

It entirely depends on the track surface and vehicle imo. Iracing has a significantly better dirt physics than AC (and this is from an AC fan) I also feel as though ACC has a much better tyre physics model than AC, the latter of which often feels quite numb to me, I am only on a T300, however. A DD wheel may liven it up a smidgen but I wouldn't hold my breath.

@@MorbidTorov you're not wrong on the poor ac dirt physics, but have you updated to the latest CSP 2.3PREV11?? It has introduced updated dirt / gravel physics that now make driving off-road / rally actually fun. Its no longer just a version of wet pavement but has actually made driving rally in AC super fun. They also further improved what I already believed to be one of the best sims re: FFB. Linear Color Space was the biggest of the new CSP feature improvements. Highly recommend installing the latest CSP and latest LCS compatible PURE. AC, thanks to Lija, Peter, and others just continues to rapidly improv & evolve.

Some of the games out there that have the most longevity and long-term success have mods. In the sim-space, BeamNG and KSP come to mind as an example. Both are right around a decade old but still very much kicking. Even BeamNG's predecessor Rigs of Rods is still receiving updates and new mods nearly 20 years into its existence. There are countless more examples of this, the most successful of which is Minecraft, which persists because of mods and regular updates.

I did my lap with some rain and some fog so i took it very easy since we would have had to drive to sweden that same day! Overall an incredibile experience, since every turn has a blind exit you need to be familiar with the layout in order to know where to point the car. Thanks for asking :)

After 2 weeks vacation I came home and hopped into AC in VR for the first time in a few months. I played literally all day, grinding down lap times on the Nordschleife Touristfahren (?) I think this game benefits from a rough start and slowly growing over time. A huge hype around a game inevitable leads to a large portion of the playerbase has seen everything at the same time. I still wish it had a decent driving school in the core game. But on the otherhand having to reach out online for help or input made a great community around the game.

I keep coming back to AC because of massive selection of tracks (SR3 Radical around Targa Florio is my fav) plenty of old school heal and toe action cars to choose from, inserting mods into the game in a breeze and the game starts up real fast!

Love the game for it's mechanics, I have just the G29 wheel and still feel like I'm on a real car without any fancy rig or whatever. After I learned to install the mods and car packs, I've never played NFS or Forza ever again. The loving mechanics with such a customizable environment and cars gives the petrolheads an unequal freedom to play however you want, either competitive, simulation or arcade, all with the sparks of a real car experience.

Right now (in germany) assetto corsa compezione is for 12 euros or dollars and with a bundle that has normal assetto corsa and the compezione for 13 euros or dollars which means it costs 1 euro

Actually the only reason in recent years the game has gained such a popularity are mods, mods are keeping it alive There is literally mod for everything, Graphics mods make the game look much better than any game out there recently released. Tracks (Open World with traffic, racing tracks, drift tracks, drag.... you name it, you can find almost every track out there) Cars (Not only car mods, bikes, even effing shopping trolleys lol), infotainment systems that support KZbin, Maps, Spotify..... This game came closest to the real-life as it can get thanks to modders.

I'm thinking of starting this game, but the main barrier for me is the lack of livery customization. As far as I can tell, there is no livery editor. I spend hours designing liveries and decorating my cars with them. I hope the version coming out in the next few months will have that feature.

Only got 184 hours, but I have a history in racing since as early as I can remember, currently 17 and can confidently say that this game on wheel has made me a better overall driver. Without the modding community, I would have never batted an eye at this game and I will be forever grateful for that.

AC is my favourite game! It has the content quantity from rF1 with updated graphics and VR support. Not to mention the stunning sound mods people have created! If it had a realistic damage model it would be the perfect game

You're preaching to the Choir here. Assetto is the new GTR2. Remember when all those sims came out against GTR2......everybody still played it the gradually switched to Assetto as it got better. I have both rFactor sims, uninstalled both of them. I have Race Room, it's probably been a year since I even looked at it.....and six months since I played ACC. Its gonna take a lot for me to stop playing AC.

first. its the cheapest sim racing game you can buy second, its the easiest to run among all the other racing games third. the modding community is just so big that the whole game revolves around it fourth, in modern-day AC, you don't need to have a wheel to enjoy the game. I play with a mouse and keyboard i enjoy the experience alongside with my friends that uses wheel or controllers. thanks to modders that made controls more better and customizable to your fitting.

Yes, all of this. I do get the impression that a few of the more... dedicated/obsessive (pick your choice!) sim racers genuinely can't understand why someone wouldn't drop four figures on sim racing. You even occasionally see people actively sneered at for using, say, a Logitech wheel instead of some high-end direct drive model. That's not helpful to people who just want to have fun and don't care if the tyre model is 0.04% off, who are interested and want a low-risk way of trying sim racing for the first time and/or who just don't have that kind of money. Right now AC Ultimate Edition is £10.99 in the Steam sale, at least here in the UK. You can buy that and have lots of fun without doing anything more, even if you have quite an old PC. Then if you do like it, the mods come by the bucketful. These days I'm mostly in the "just want to have fun" category myself and AC scratches that itch beautifully. (For context, I used to race a lot back in the GPL/GTL era, back when a Microsoft SWFF wheel for £65 was the thing for non-ultra-rich sim racers to have, but then drifted away from racing games for a while. It was largely AC that brought me back.)

That's most likely the no hesi server with someones graphics settings including reshade. More than likely you will have to pay a little bit of money (1-2 dollars) for the graphics settings that the person is using. I know Bloob has some good graphical settings if you want to go check him out. It's mainly just called "dashcam reshade settings".
